Tulane University will host Hunter Biden as a guest speaker for a class focused on media polarization and the impacts of media on public policy.

According to a course description, Tulane will offer a fall semester class titled, “Media Polarization and Public Policy Impacts.” It is a 10-week course for “those interested in media relations and policy.”

“America’s rapidly advancing partisan divide is fueled substantially by the growing political polarization increasingly evident in our news media,” the course description reads. “This course will explore the current state of the media landscape in the United States and how media polarization, fake news, and the economics of the news business impact public policymaking in Washington, D.C.”

The class will include a slew of popular, left-wing political reporters and figureheads.

The speaker list includes:

  • Dr. Deborah Birks, the former White House COVID coordinator
  • Susan Glasser, The New Yorker
  • Margaret Sullivan, Washington Post
  • Juan Williams, Fox News
  • Kylie Atwood, CNN
  • Margaret Brennan – CBS News’ Face the Nation
  • Bret Stephens, New York Times

Among the speakers is Hunter Biden, the scandal-ridden son of President Joe Biden. Hunter has come under fire in the last year after reporters uncovered that he was making money off of a Ukrainian energy company with little to no qualifications for the position.

According to the New York Post, Biden also allegedly introduced his father, who was then the vice president, to a top executive at the Ukrainian energy firm “less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.”

Biden made more headlines after the release of his memoir “Beautiful Things.” In the memoir, the younger Biden describes sharing a D.C. apartment with a crackhead named “Bicycles” and details his struggles with substance abuse.

The Daily Wire reported

“Almost anyone who lives or works in DC has at one time or another seen Bicycles — also known as Rhea, a homeless, middleaged Black woman — weaving in and out of traffic or swerving around sidewalk pedestrians” with a “piercing voice that can be heard a block away as she shouts for everybody to get the hell out of her way, which she does almost continuously,” Biden wrote.

Biden had a decades-long relationship with Bicycles, buying crack from her in a park near the White House when he was a Georgetown University student in the 1990s.

It is unclear what qualifications Biden has — besides being related to the current President — that make him an appropriate guest speaker on media polarization.

Tulane University did not respond to requests for comment in time for publication.

The course will be offered to students from September 20 until December 18. The class will be co-taught by Mitchell Sellers, an associate professor of political science, and Andrew Schwartz, the chief communications officer at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
