There’s a reason it’s known as the Clinton News Network.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson said on Monday that he has heard from sources that CNN directed their hosts and reporters to discredit former Democratic National Committee Chairman Donna Brazile over her new book, which casts Hillary Clinton in a horrible light.
“According to highly informed sources we spoke to — highly informed — top management at CNN directed its employees to undermine Brazile’s credibility,” Carlson said on his show. “Anchors and producers were vocally offended by her attacks on their friends, the Clintons. If you’ve been watching that channel, you may have noticed CNN’s anchors suggesting that Donna Brazile cannot be trusted, precisely because she took part in efforts to break the primaries for Clinton.”
Carlson then played clips of CNN hosts making derogatory comments about Brazile, whose new book is titled “Hacks: The Insider Story of the Break-Ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.”
In her book, full of self-aggrandizement, Brazile says Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, her predecessor at the DNC, was a disaster who turned the party over to Clinton; former President Barack Obama left the party worse than broke, with $2 million of debt; Hillary essentially ran the party; the primary set-up was skewed to favor the former Secretary of State; and Sen. Bernie Sanders was the victim of a unfair nomination process.
Since the release of excerpts from the book, which hits the shelves Nov. 7, Democrats have been after Brazile.
Robby Mook, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager, on Monday sought to cast doubt on portions of Brazile’s book in an appearance on — that’s right, CNN.
”We also don’t recall some of the events she said that happened,” Mook said. “The allegation she’s making simply isn’t true.”
“Look, I’ll be honest with you, I’m sure Donna was under a lot of pressure from her publisher to put this book out right on this election week, when we have critical elections happening around the country,” Mook told the friendly CNN host. “I wish she’d just put her foot down and said no, I’m not going to release it around these elections.”
