President Donald Trump prompted cheers from a crowd at a rally in Montana on Thursday night when he touted body-slamming Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT), saying, “Any guy that can do a bodyslam, he’s my kind of guy.”
“Let me just say on behalf of all of Montana, Mr. President, thank you for giving us hope again,” Gianforte said, while at a rally in Missoula, Montana.
After shaking his hand and walking back up to the podium, Trump told the crowd: “Never wrestle him.”
Trump’s comment was a reference to when Gianforte body-slammed a reporter in 2017 who got up in his face.
“You understand that, never.” Trump continued. “Any guy that can do a bodyslam, he’s my kind of guy.”
