Vem Miller, a Nevada man who was arrested last weekend outside a Trump rally, is suing Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco for creating “a false narrative against Miller&#8221; when he alleged Miller was trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump, whom Miller says he fully supports.
Miller was arrested for allegedly having a fake pass to the rally &#8212; which Miller has denied &#8212; and numerous illegal, loaded weapons in his vehicle. Sheriff Bianco told the press following Miller&#8217;s arrest that his team likely stopped a third assassination attempt on the former president.
“I probably did have deputies that prevented the third assassination attempt,” Bianco said. “I truly do believe that we prevented another assassination attempt.”
In his lawsuit, Miller <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/16/man-arrested-trump-rally-sues-california-sheriff-00183906" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> Bianco “wanted to create a narrative so as to be viewed as a ‘heroic’ Sheriff who saved Presidential candidate Trump from a third assassination attempt.”
Miller further contends that Bianco made false statements about him even after he was notified by Secret Service and the FBI that they did not view Miller as a threat.

“Even after being notified by both United States Secret Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation that they did not believe Miller was a threat and declined to interview him, Defendant Bianco continued to make preposterous allegations against Miller, holding press conferences perpetuating his delusional and false narrative,” the complaint reads.
On Tuesday, Bianco told the Los Angeles Times that it was possible that Miller had not been at the rally to hurt Trump. “Three days later, IF everything Mr. Miller has said is true, and I really hope it is, then he probably wasn’t there to hurt former President Trump,” the sheriff <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-10-15/riverside-sheriff-backs-off-trump-assassination-attempt-comments" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> via text message. “I definitely said it and can’t change that.”
“There is no way for us to know for sure,&#8221; Bianco added. &#8220;That is up to further investigation, if any, from the FBI.&#8221;
Miller has spoken to the press in the aftermath of the arrest and repeatedly stated that he&#8217;s a supporter of Trump, &#8220;100%.&#8221; He also said he&#8217;s been to numerous Trump rallies and typically informs officers at the rallies that he has legal firearms in his vehicle.
However, at the Coachella, California rally, where Miller was arrested, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBqNi-uG-xI" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> his guns were not legal. Miller said he didn&#8217;t realize there were different laws in California than in Nevada and made a mistake.

Trump Supporter Sues Cali Sheriff For Accusing Him Of Trying To Assassinate Trump

The New York Times on Friday admitted that President Donald Trump &#8220;holds the levers of power&#8221; in his battle with Harvard University, which the Times added has &#8220;no way out.&#8221;
Trump is taking on Harvard over the Ivy League&#8217;s DEI (&#8220;diversity, equity, and inclusion&#8221;) policies, its <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elise-stefanik-says-harvard-siding-with-those-who-hate-jewish-students-in-scathing-letter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">handling of antisemitism on campus</a>, and biased hiring and admissions policies. The Trump administration is working to block billions of federal dollars to Harvard, and more recently halted the university&#8217;s ability to enroll international students, though that&#8217;s been temporarily blocked by a judge.
NYT correspondent Michael Schmidt, who painted Trump negatively, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/23/us/politics/trump-harvard-international-students.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admitted</a> that the federal government holds the levers of power, since Harvard takes so much money from the feds. Notably, Trump is cracking down on the school because they won&#8217;t adjust policies the Right views as discriminatory and anti-American.
&#8220;Trump has stripped extensive federal funding from Harvard,&#8221; Schmidt explained. &#8220;Let’s say a judge gives back all of that money for this year. Half of the university’s research budget comes from the federal government. Where is Harvard going to get the money in the year after that, and the year after that? If you’re a researcher, do you want to be doing research at a school where your funding is in question?&#8221;
&#8220;Harvard finds itself in this impossible position,&#8221; the reporter continued. &#8220;The federal government has more levers to use against an institution like Harvard than certainly I had appreciated. If you are persona non grata with Trump, he’s got you by the lapels in a way that is extraordinary. And Harvard is feeling it.&#8221;

Schmidt said that privately, Harvard is feeling the heat. &#8220;Harvard officials have privately determined they are in a major, major, major crisis with very few, if any, good off ramps,&#8221; he said.
Last year, Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned following congressional questioning over her handling of antisemitism on campus. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) blasted Harvard, and Gay specifically, for allowing the targeting of Jewish students.
“[Gay] failed to stand up for Jewish students on campus who have been facing antisemitic attacks, who have been facing physical assault,&#8221; Stefanik <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elise-stefanik-harvard-president-claudine-gays-resignation-was-long-overdue" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in January 2024. &#8220;We’ve seen that footage. We’ve heard that directly from students on campus. We’ve also heard faculty concerns about her tenure, and her position, and her lack of academic integrity. But it really goes back to protecting Jewish students. And, frankly, when it comes to Harvard, the only time that Harvard has pled for academic freedom or freedom of speech was when it comes to the genocide of the Jewish people. That is inherently unfit for a person to be president of a university.&#8221;

NYT: Harvard Is Screwed, Trump Has All The Power

There’s a battle brewing over pesticides. 
Some in the Republican Party say they’re worried about farmers in their districts who rely on pesticides. And there are apparent concerns within the White House that abrupt regulatory action could trigger supply chain issues. 
But at the same time, Republicans are bought in on Making America Healthy Again, and the MAHA movement wants pesticides banned in other countries to be similarly banned here. Or, at the least, they want their constituents to be able to sue makers of popular weed killers like Roundup, which has been linked to cancer. 
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former Democrat presidential candidate who&#8217;s become a superstar with President Donald Trump&#8217;s most fervent supporters, seems to have figured out how to toe the line between the two camps.

On Thursday, RFK <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jrs-highly-anticipated-maha-commission-report-is-out-heres-what-to-know?author=Amanda+Prestigiacomo&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=RFK+Jr’s+Highly+Anticipated+MAHA+Commission+Report+Is+Out.+Here’s+What+To+Know" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released the highly anticipated MAHA Commission report</a>, which detailed a variety of potential causes of the childhood chronic illness epidemic. Though the report takes on pesticides — its authors order a study on the chemicals by next year — there&#8217;s a clear effort by RFK and his top allies to quell fears of quick regulatory action. 
“American farmers rely on these products, and actions that further regulate or restrict crop protection tools beyond risk-based and scientific processes set forth by Congress must involve thoughtful consideration of what is necessary for adequate protection, alternatives, and cost of production,” the report states.
This effort has been in the works since before the report. Top RFK advisor Calley Means signaled last week that while the report will state the “truth” about pesticides, HHS has no desire for “nanny state” regulatory measures on pesticides, especially since abrupt action could spell a “disaster.” 
“This report is on the truth, it&#8217;s on the dynamics. It’s a fact that we ingest 25% of the world’s pesticides in the United States, and many of our leading pesticides, in other countries across the world, have chosen to phase them out or ban them, calling them carcinogenic and disruptive to kids. Those are the facts. Those are easily Google-able. The United States government has never recognized those facts,” Means <a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/uXnBG0FAqNA">said</a>. “When you get to policy, and I want to make this clear: I don’t think anyone in the Trump administration, I don&#8217;t think it’s the right policy, to say that insinuates that we need to have some sort of European anti-growth regulatory nanny state.”
“The policy solutions from this are not obvious,&#8221; he continued. “Pesticides are deeply ingrained into the U.S. agricultural system and it would be a disaster to phase them out tomorrow. Nobody is suggesting that.” 
Means also noted that throughout the 2024 campaign, Trump said he wants “the truth” on pesticides, seeming to downplay pushback from the White House.

On the state level, there&#8217;s less of an effort to keep the fight in the background. GOP-led North Dakota and Georgia have both passed laws to shield pesticide manufacturer Bayer (formerly Monsanto) from forthcoming legal action over its “failure to warn” about potential harms associated with its products, specifically Roundup, which contains glyphosate. 
That&#8217;s led to fury from state lawmakers. Republican Blake Bassham of Georgia, for example, is not pleased with Republican Gov. Brian Kemp (GA), who recently signed legislation to shield Bayer. 
“Governor Kemp just signed a liability shield for chemical giants—quietly, behind closed doors, no cameras, no crowds. Why? Because they know it’s crony politics at its worst,” Bassham, who’s the Georgia State Freedom Caucus research director, said in a statement sent to The Daily Wire. “Courts have found real people were harmed, and no amount of lobbyist dinners will erase that.”
“The swamp may have won this round, but the grassroots, the MAHA moms, and freedom-loving Georgians won’t forget who sold them out,” he added. “This draws a clear line: who’s on the Trump Train—and who’s still riding with the corporate cronies of the old GOP.”
There are nearly a dozen states where legislation is pending on Bayer liability, including states like Missouri, Iowa, Idaho, Florida, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. 
The Daily Wire spoke to Missouri lawmaker Nick Schroer, a Republican, who is fighting efforts in his state to shield Bayer from liability. 
“I think it&#8217;s atrocious to believe that any company – any company in America or anywhere – should get any form of blanket immunity for the products that they&#8217;re putting in the stream of commerce,” Schroer said, later emphasizing that Bayer is a German-based company. “I think the Seventh Amendment guarantees our access to the courts.”

Schroer added that there are almost 200,000 lawsuits nationwide that have been filed over Roundup allegedly causing different diseases, cancers, and deaths. In his state, Republicans are split on passing a bill to shield Bayer. Schroer told The Daily Wire this has to do with lobbying efforts and worries over farmers, who are also split on the issue. 
“There’s a very strong agriculture community in the state of Missouri. And even with the farmers, some of them are split on whether this is a good bill or not,” he said, noting that some farmers say they want to be able to access recourse if their family members get cancer from these pesticides. 
“Whereas other farmers are saying, ‘Look, if we don&#8217;t grant them immunity, this product&#8217;s going to go belly up, and we&#8217;re not going to have any form of weed killer, herbicide that is going to tackle these issues in our fields,’” Schroer explained. 
The Republican also highlighted lobbying efforts tipping the scales. “I&#8217;d say the strongest point is probably the lobbyist influence, the injection of millions of dollars that allegedly Bayer or groups associated with Bayer, associated with glyphosate manufacturers, they targeted nine different senators,” Schroer said. “They put a bunch of mailers, including myself, into our districts – a bunch of commercials. And we&#8217;ve seen some of the state reps actually bend the knee and vote yes, even though they had concerns over the bill.”
While RFK and Means are handling the fight diplomatically, some members of their coalition are full-steam ahead. Founder and leader of Moms Across America, Zen Honeycutt, says she wants the active ingredient glyphosate &#8212; and dozens of other pesticides &#8212; banned in the U.S. 
“The harm from glyphosate has not been acknowledged, even though there are hundreds of independent studies showing harm from glyphosate,” Honeycutt told The Daily Wire in a phone interview on Thursday. She pointed to a study that shows glyphosate “reduces the nutrient uptake into the shoot of the crop, which is the part we eat, by 80-95%, and those nutrients are magnesium, zinc, and iron. Those are the strongholds, those are the essentials for the immune system.”

Honeycutt, who is part of the MAHA Institute, praised Trump and RFK for taking on pesticides in the MAHA Commission report.
“We cannot make America healthy again with any use of glyphosate, and that is a very inconvenient truth that farmers and suppliers do not want to acknowledge,” she said. “I think we are on the pathway to having that acknowledgement by actually having glyphosate included in this report, as well as atrazine, which is contributing to a major reproductive crisis.”
Though she hopes for stronger actions on these pesticides and other health issues, Honeycutt called the MAHA Commission report “a miracle.” 
“We have been working for over 13 years now – some other groups have been working for 20 or 30 years and saying, ‘Hey, we need to get these toxins out of our food,’” Honeycutt said. &#8220;It is a dream come true to finally have an administration listening to us.&#8221;

The Looming GOP Food Fight Over Pesticides

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday released the highly anticipated MAHA Commission report, detailing findings on potential causes of the epidemic of Americans, particularly children, fighting chronic illnesses. 
The report, which is 68 pages long, details findings concerning ultra-processed foods, environmental toxins, stress, and the lack of physical activity, and reliance on medications and vaccines.

On nutrition, the report notes Americans&#8217; reliance on ultra-processed foods, which it says leads to &#8220;nutrient depletion, increased caloric intake, and exposure to harmful additives.&#8221; The report found that 70% of children’s calories now come from ultra-processed foods, contributing to chronic conditions.
On environmental chemicals, the report says children are being &#8220;exposed to an increasing number of synthetic chemicals, some of which have been linked to developmental issues and chronic disease.&#8221;
Specifically, when it comes to pesticides, the report&#8217;s authors order a study on the chemicals by next year, but it also tires to quell fears of quick regulatory action. Notably, some Republicans have expressed concern about action on pesticides because of how it might impact farmers.

Addressing the over-medicalization of children, the <a href="https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/fd441e56ad4bcf36/2f18e38b-full.pdf">report</a> cites a 1,400% increase in antidepressant prescriptions and increased prescribing of stimulants, antibiotics, and asthma drugs, an Axios report notes.
Vaccinations were also highlighted, specifically calling for &#8220;more rigorous clinical trial designs.&#8221;
The detailed report is framed as a &#8220;call to action.&#8221;

RFK Jr’s Highly Anticipated MAHA Commission Report Is Out. Here’s What To Know

The U.S. Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-sides-with-maine-republican-punished-over-post-on-trans-identifying-athlete" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sided with Maine state Rep. Laurel Libby</a> on Tuesday, after the Republican challenged her punishment from state Democrats for standing up for girls and refusing to back down. 
As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-will-not-be-silenced-democrats-censure-maines-laurel-libby-for-calling-out-trans-sports-policy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">chronicled by The Daily Wire</a>, Rep. Libby was censured — banned from voting and speaking on the House floor — by Maine Democrats back in February over a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1053801876552826&amp;set=pb.100057690715704.-2207520000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Facebook post</a> drawing attention to Maine&#8217;s controversial transgender policies. Specifically, the post featured a public image of a boy winning a state championship in high school girls&#8217; pole vaulting.
&#8220;The Democrat majority in the Maine House voted to censure me and at the same time, to strip my constituents of their voice and their vote,&#8221; Libby told The Daily Wire in a phone interview Wednesday. &#8220;And following the censure vote is when Democrat House Speaker Ryan Fecteau declared that, until I apologize, I would not be allowed to speak or vote on the floor.&#8221; 
Libby said she knew immediately she was going to fight back. &#8220;That night after the censure, I had decided to move forward with a lawsuit, and we filed two weeks later,&#8221; she said. 
And so far, the fight has paid off for Libby. The Republican has become a leading player in the fight for girls sports, and on Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that she&#8217;s allowed to vote while her legal battle plays out.
“I can vote, which is the key part,&#8221; Libby said. &#8220;That&#8217;s the most important, right? Because my constituents have been without a vote on important legislation for three months now. I can vote on their behalf, but I still cannot speak.&#8221; 
Not only did SCOTUS side with Libby, but there were only two dissents, which came from Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor. Notably, Jackson, who was the only one to explain her dissent, suggested that it&#8217;s likely Libby will ultimately win her case.
“I was surprised that it was 7 -2. Frankly, I&#8217;m really thrilled with that result,&#8221; Libby said, before noting Jackson&#8217;s dissent: &#8220;It really came down to the process and the procedure and timeframe, and not the merits.&#8221; 
&#8220;I was hopeful, but perhaps not optimistic before,&#8221; the Republican said. &#8220;And I would say I&#8217;m outright optimistic now.”
Libby told The Daily Wire she believes her case was picked up by the Supreme Court since the actions taken against her were “unprecedented.&#8221; 
“I think when folks who are not involved in politics think of the role of their representative, they think of the fact that they&#8217;re voting on legislation, right?&#8221; she explained. &#8220;To have a duly elected representative stripped of that right, which is how they speak for their constituents, is shocking and an attack on democracy.”
As for now, Libby said she&#8217;s excited to give her constituents their voice back. The first bill she&#8217;s able to vote on concerns a measure to repeal the national popular vote compact in Maine. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m thrilled to be able to vote on that bill and others on their behalf — we&#8217;ll also have some really important budget bills coming up where there are probably going to be new and raised taxes, which I will vote against,&#8221; Libby explained. &#8220;I&#8217;m glad to be able to exercise my vote on behalf of the people of House District 90.&#8221;

She Stood Up For Girls, Then Got A SCOTUS Win: Laurel Libby Speaks Out

The Biden administration was aware of potentially deadly side effects associated with COVID vaccines and chose not to alert the public about the risks for months, according to a bombshell Senate report obtained by The Daily Wire.
According to the report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, officials knew as early as February 2021 that the vaccines were associated with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the thin sac surrounding the heart). Still, they waited to warn the public until June as they pushed the vaccine on Americans. 
The report concludes that U.S. health officials &#8220;knew about the risks of myocarditis,&#8221; &#8220;downplayed the health concern,&#8221; and deliberately &#8220;delayed informing the public about the risk.&#8221;
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), who chairs the committee and will lead a hearing on it later this afternoon, told The Daily Wire that Biden officials delayed reporting the side effects because they were concerned about &#8220;vaccine hesitancy.&#8221; 
&#8220;But in being concerned about that, they violated the inviolable principle of informed consent,&#8221; Johnson said.

&#8220;The federal government was very well aware of the myocarditis signal, particularly in young men, as early as February [2021],&#8221; Johnson told The Daily Wire, adding that Israeli officials were informing the United States about side effects they were noticing.
In late February, a CDC official named Lauri Markowitz, who co-led the Vaccine Safety Technical Work Group (VaST), sent an email concerning the “draft minutes and summary report from the VaST call this week” and stressed that “all VaST documents and communications are confidential.”
According to that email, the call included an update about nearly 1,000 death reports to VAERS following vaccination. Notably, the email said that in the cases where cause of death was “known,” it was “often cardiovascular”:
<blockquote>There have been 19536 VAERS reports (Moderna: 7092 PfizerBioNTech: 12444), including 1287 reports of COVID-19 disease after vaccination and 980 death reports to VAERS. Of the death reports, 470 were from long term care facilities. Where known, the cause of death was often cardiovascular.</blockquote>
Israel rolled out vaccinations quicker than the United States, so Israeli health officials saw adverse effects sooner.
The report states that the Israeli Ministry of Health notified Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials of “large reports of myocarditis, particularly in young people, following the administration of the Pfizer vaccine.”

Johnson said the report — &#8220;Failure to Warn: How Federal Health Agencies Downplayed the Risk of Myocarditis and Other Adverse Events Following COVID-19 Vaccination&#8221; — documents this apparent cover up in over 2,400 pages of attachments, which largely derive from Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
&#8220;For a number of months, they were talking about these things. At some point in time, they actually internally said, &#8216;Is there a signal of myocarditis, a safety signal?&#8217; And the answer was &#8216;Yes,'&#8221; Johnson explained. &#8220;And yet, a couple of days later, they decided not to issue a warning on the Health Alert Network (HAN).&#8221;
&#8220;Rather than provide informed consent, the federal health agencies, the Biden administration, covered it up,&#8221; Johnson charged. &#8220;They downplayed the signals.&#8221;
The report notes that the Biden White House &#8220;distribut[ed] talking points to top U.S. health officials,&#8221; including National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci, downplaying the risk of myocarditis:
<blockquote>Rather than provide the public and health care providers with immediate and transparent information regarding the risk of myocarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination, the Biden administration waited until late June 2021 to announce changes to the labels for the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines based on the “suggested increased risks” of myocarditis and pericarditis. Even though CDC and FDA officials were well aware of the risk of myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccination, the Biden administration opted to withhold issuing a formal warning to the public for months about the safety concerns, jeopardizing the health of young Americans. </blockquote>
An executive summary of the report notes that Johnson&#8217;s committee was effectively stonewalled by the Biden administration when requesting documents, seeking transparency. Under the Trump administration, that changed.
&#8220;Now, under a new administration and a new HHS secretary, HHS is beginning to produce records, pursuant to the chairman’s subpoena, that should have been provided years ago, without redactions, to Congress and the public,&#8221; the report said.

President Donald Trump signed the bipartisan &#8220;Take It Down Act&#8221; into law on Monday, surrounded by First Lady Melania Trump and lawmakers who helped advance the bill.
The &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/can-you-help-me-why-the-take-it-down-act-is-a-lifeline-for-victims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Take It Down Act</a>&#8221; makes publishing non-consensual intimate imagery, real or AI-generated, a federal crime. It requires social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook to remove content that features explicit images or videos of minors, known as “child sexual abuse material,” or CSAM, or “revenge porn,” within 48 hours of the content being flagged.

Guffey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/podcasts/morning-wire/the-sextortion-crisis-claiming-the-lives-of-teen-boys-4-12-25" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told The Daily Wire</a> last month that he wants social media companies to have protections stripped from them over their lack of action concerning CSAM material.
“I think the number one thing that we have to do is to remove Section 230, or revisit Section 230, which was written in 1996,” he told The Daily Wire. “It gives these companies — who are the richest companies since the inception of man — it absolves them from being sued. So we can sue them, but things get thrown out before discovery because they just say, ‘We’re not responsible for anything online because this is a public forum.’”
Guffey is currently suing Meta, the parent company of Instagram, over his son’s death. “I filed a suit directly on my own, not demanding money, but demanding change.”
