President Donald Trump on Saturday blamed the “radical left” for blocking national healing.
“I’d like to see it [the nation] heal,” the president said told <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-radical-left-healing-charlie-kirk-assassination-rcna231032">NBC News</a>. “But we’re dealing with a radical left group of lunatics, and they don’t play fair and they never did.”
Trump survived at least two assassination attempts during the 2024 campaign. His comments echo some the president made Thursday about “lunatics” on the “radical left.” The president said he is focused on addressing violence on the left.
“I’m really concerned for our country. We have a great country. We have a radical left group of lunatics out there, just absolute lunatics, and we&#8217;re going to get that problem solved. I&#8217;m only concerned for the country,” the president <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-announces-posthumously-award-charlie-kirk-presidential-medal/story?id=125474603">said</a> while leaving the White House.
The president has urged supporters and followers of Charlie Kirk, the GOP activist and founder of Turning Point USA who was assassinated on Wednesday, to respond with “nonviolence.” Numerous prayer vigils and memorials for Kirk have been held across the country in the wake of his slaying.
Mounting evidence <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-charlie-kirk-killer-reportedly-lived-with-trans-identifying-partner">suggests</a> that Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk, targeted the conservative pundit over politics. The shooter’s weapon, found stashed nearby the event at Utah Valley University where Kirk was killed, contained bullets with anti-fascist slogans and phrases written on the casings.
One of the messages read, “Hey Fascist! Catch!” Another included the lyrics from a famous Italian anti-fascist song called “Bella Ciao.”
GOP Governor Spencer Cox of Utah said on Saturday that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”
Law enforcement interviews with the suspect’s family members have revealed that Robinson had grown increasingly political in recent years and that he knew of and disliked Kirk in particular. At one recent dinner, Robinson had mentioned that Kirk planned to do an event at Utah Valley University.
The event was one of Kirk’s well-known college campus open debates during which the conservative commentator would invite anyone who disagreed with his opinions to challenge him.
Family members told authorities that Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, had become increasingly political in recent years. The suspect disliked Kirk in particular; at a recent dinner, he spoke of how much he disliked and disagreed with Kirk while also mentioning that the conservative planned to visit Utah soon for an event at Utah Valley University.

Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of popular conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, lived with a transgender-identifying partner, according to reports.
Robinson, who authorities arrested on Thursday night, “lived with his transgender partner,” Fox News reporter Brooke Singman posted on X, citing unnamed sources.
“The individual, who is a male transitioning to a female, is fully cooperating with the FBI,” Singman said of the suspected shooter’s apparent romantic partner.
The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1966908189217353890">said</a> he also confirmed the identity of Robinson&#8217;s partner.
“I’ve independently confirmed that Charlie Kirk’s assassin did in fact have a transgender boyfriend. This is LGBT extremism. A lot more will be revealed soon. The ‘far right’ narrative is absolute bulls***. Not even close to true. Don’t fall for it,” Walsh <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1966908189217353890">posted</a>.
The revelation about Robinson&#8217;s relationship has come after a torrent of evidence <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/details-revealed-about-suspected-charlie-kirk-assassins-leftist-ideology">suggesting</a> that the suspect is on the political Left, and he allegedly targeted the conservative Kirk over politics. On Friday, Cox said that the assassin’s bullet that killed Kirk was also an attack on the fundamental values of the United States. 
“This is certainly about the tragic death, assassination, political assassination, of Charlie Kirk,” said Cox. “But it is also much bigger than an attack on an individual. It is an attack on all of us.  It is an attack on the American experiment. It is an attack on our ideals. This cuts to the very foundation of who we are, of who we have been, and who we could be in better times.”

Suspected Charlie Kirk Killer Reportedly Lived With Trans-Identifying Partner

JERUSALEM — Israel’s strike against Hamas leadership in Qatar may have been the best shot at resetting negotiations with the terror group, an Israeli military expert says.
Israel struck a building in Doha on Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to kill senior Hamas officials who had gathered to discuss a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal. It remains unclear how effective the Israeli strike was. Israel has not made an official determination on the success of the strike. Hamas has said that while the strike killed six – including top aides to senior Hamas leaders – the leadership team remains fully intact.
If Israel’s strike was successful, it may allow outside Arab states to assemble a new Hamas leadership team, one more open to negotiation while having more authority over a terror group that has suffered heavy losses over the course of its two-year war against Israel, according to Eyal Pinko, a senior research fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies in Israel.
“Hamas is really a fiction because after [Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar] and all the other leaders in the Gaza Strip that were killed, Hamas was divided into five [factions],” Pinko said in an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbTA6hGJG8g">interview</a> with the Jerusalem Press Club. “They are fighting each other, and sometimes I do believe that they are hating each other much more than they hate Israel.”
Egypt and Qatar, the main Arab state mediators in discussions between Israel and the terror group, may be able to install the next leaders of Hamas who will attend negotiations, Pinko said. Outside the influence of Iran, the next Hamas negotiators could be more amenable to a ceasefire agreement that could secure the release of the 48 remaining Israeli hostages.
Ceasefire negotiations have been stalled for months because of the terror group’s factionalism and its unwillingness to give up hostages — its most effective bargaining piece.
“I think this situation, it&#8217;s the same, but while nothing [was] going anywhere with the negotiation before yesterday, I think now the ability of Qatar to put someone that is really relevant and can push and can be under the sole control of Qatar without Iran — and this is the critical point, without Iran — it can be, I think, that much more can be achieved in this negotiation,” Pinko said.
Historically, Hamas has been slow to recognize when its leaders have been killed. Gaza leader Khalil al-Hayya was one official targeted in the strike, and neither he nor others have been seen in public since. The Hamas official was not <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-strikes-hamas-chiefs-in-qatar-terror-group-insists-senior-leaders-unharmed/">seen</a> at the funeral of his son, who was identified as one of those killed in the strike.
The strike kicked off a round of condemnations against the Jewish state and earned a public rebuke from the White House as President Donald Trump said he is “not thrilled about the whole situation.” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115176193823019593">pledged</a> that such an attack “will not happen again on [Qatari] soil.”
Some of the president’s reaction may be more for public effect. Israel likely received approval to conduct the strike in Qatar, and may have allowed more notice to Qatar than has been publicly acknowledged, Pinko told The Daily Wire.
In the immediate aftermath, Qatar condemned the attack as a “blatant violation of all international laws and norms.” Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Thursday, however, said that Doha was committed to the peace process.
“Israel is trying to rearrange the region by force,” the premier <a href="https://apnews.com/article/qatar-israel-attack-hamas-un-gaza-hostages-16a8e9c4a9757eadeec9ef520c0a1e30">told</a> a meeting of the UN Security Council. But “we will continue our humanitarian and diplomatic role without any hesitation in order to stop the bloodshed.”
The Israeli attack came days after Trump publicly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/this-is-my-last-warning-trump-tells-hamas-to-release-remaining-hostages-or-else">demanded</a> that Hamas negotiate a release of the 48 hostages or suffer “consequences.”
“Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!” Trump posted.

Israeli Military Expert: Qatar Airstrike May Be The Best Chance At Ceasefire With Hamas

The Pentagon is tracking the social media accounts of service members and War Department employees for messages celebrating or mocking the death of GOP activist Charlie Kirk.
War Chief Pete Hegseth said in a post on social media Thursday that his department would hold accountable those under its pay who have posted offensive messages about Kirk’s assassination earlier this week.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said Thursday: “It is unacceptable for military personnel and Department of War civilians to celebrate or mock the assassination of a fellow American. The Department of War has zero tolerance for it.”
Hegseth responded to the post: “We are tracking all these very closely — and will address, immediately. Completely unacceptable.”

After Kirk was murdered by an assassin on Wednesday, some parts of social media were flooded with messages mocking the Turning Point USA founder and celebrating the 31-year-old’s death.
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is one of the most notable figures to bash Kirk after his murder. The congresswoman from Minnesota <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/social-media-erupts-squad-dems-interview-after-charlie-kirk-assassination-needs-resign">claimed</a> during an interview with Mehdi Hasan this week that Kirk “was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police … downplay slavery and what black people have gone through in this country by saying Juneteenth should never exist.”
Omar said she has “empathy” for Kirk’s widow and children, but not for the conservative activist.
Others have faced consequences for making similar statements, such as former Middle Tennessee State University Associate Dean of Students Laura Sosh-Lightsy, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-university-dean-fired-after-saying-she-had-no-sympathy-for-charlie-kirk">wrote</a> on social media: “Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence. Hate begets hate. ZERO sympathy.”
Sosh-Lightsy was fired on Wednesday.
Hegseth’s promise to hold those under the Department of War to a standard of civility over Kirk’s death comes after the DeSantis administration in Florida threatened similar action against educators who openly celebrate Kirk’s death on social media.
Florida Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/florida-pledges-to-hold-teachers-accountable-who-celebrate-charlie-kirks-death">sent</a> a memo to educators across the state warning that he “will be conducting an investigation of every educator who engages in this vile, sanctionable behavior.”

Hegseth ‘Closely’ Tracking Posts Celebrating Charlie Kirk Murder From Military

President Donald Trump on Sunday demanded the terror group Hamas release the last of the remaining hostages or suffer “consequences.”
Trump issued the threat in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump">post</a> on Truth Social over the weekend. The president said that his post would be his “last warning” to the terror group to release the hostages.
“Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!” Trump posted.
It’s unclear what action Trump may take if Hamas refuses to release the remaining hostages from captivity. The president issued the threat on Friday, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/06/middleeast/trump-israel-gaza-hostages-recently-died-evcauation-intl">telling</a> reporters that some of the roughly 20 hostages still believed to be alive in the Gaza Strip may have died.
“It’s 20 people but I think of the 20 there could be some that have recently died is what I’m hearing. I hope that’s wrong,” said Trump in the Oval Office. “We know that at least 30 people are dead, and we are negotiating to get them out.”
The president said that negotiating the release of the final hostages remaining alive would be difficult and likely require some form of “capitulation.”
“When you get down to the final 10 or 20, you’re not gonna get them out unless you’re gonna do a lot and doing a lot means capitulation,” he said.
The pressure from the White House comes as Israel has ramped up military operations in the enclave. On Saturday, Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Avichay Adraee warned some Palestinians living in Gaza City to evacuate ahead of a planned Israeli airstrike.
“The Defense Army will attack the building soon due to the presence of Hamas terrorist infrastructure inside or near it,” Adraee <a href="https://x.com/AvichayAdraee/status/1964264953650544706">posted</a> to X. “For your safety, you are required to evacuate building immediately southward toward the humanitarian zone in Mawasi Khan Younis.”
The warning from Adraee came after Hamas <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy0vly9zyl2o">released</a> footage of two hostages taken on October 7, 2023. The footage shows Guy Gilboa-Dalal in late August pleading to be released from captivity. The footage also shows Alon Ohel on the day that he was taken hostage nearly two years ago.
The release of the footage caused sharp condemnation for the terror group in Israel over its treatment of the hostages.

‘This Is My Last Warning’: Trump Tells Hamas To Release Remaining Hostages, Or Else

Oklo, an advanced nuclear technology company, announced on Thursday plans to build a “first-of-its-kind” nuclear fuel recycling center.
The first phase of the project is expected to cost nearly $1.7 billion and create 800 jobs. The facility, to be built in Tennessee, will be the first privately-funded nuclear fuel recycling center.
“Fuel is the single most important factor in bringing advanced nuclear energy to market,” Oklo co-founder and CEO Jacob DeWitte said in a statement. “By recycling used nuclear fuel at an industrial scale, we are turning waste into watts, cutting costs, and establishing a secure U.S. supply chain that will accelerate deployment of clean, reliable, and affordable power. Tennessee is showing the nation that recycling can be done commercially.”
Energy Secretary Chris Wright served on Oklo’s board of directors before being nominated to head the Department of Energy in the Trump administration.
The facility to be built will recycle used nuclear fuel, offering a potential solution to a divisive issue that has plagued the nuclear energy industry: how to dispose of spent fuel. Answers to the question have proven difficult, such as in the case of the <a href="https://19january2021snapshot.epa.gov/radiation/what-yucca-mountain-repository_.html">proposed</a> Yucca Mountain repository that has drawn strong opposition from local and state leaders in Nevada.
“The recycling facility will recover energy-bearing materials from used nuclear fuel to be fabricated into metallic fuel for fast reactors. Once used in a reactor, this process significantly reduces waste volumes for more economical, clean, and efficient disposal pathways,” the Oklo press release says.
The “metallic fuel” can be used the power fast reactors such as Oklo’s Aurora powerhouse, a zero-emission power plant that “only needs to be refueled once every decade (or longer),” according to <a href="https://oklo.com/energy/default.aspx">Oklo</a>. Maintenance on Aurora will take place more often, however.
&#8220;Everyone who wants American energy to be cleaner, more affordable, and more sustainable should be rejoicing today. Oklo&#8217;s program to turn Cold War-era plutonium into safe nuclear fuel for today — and tomorrow — is a bold and exciting achievement,” Jason Isaac, CEO of the American Energy Institute, told The Daily Wire in a statement.
Oklo and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) are looking at more opportunities to collaborate, such as Oklo handling nuclear fuel recycling for the TVA and building other facilities in the state.
Energy and Environment Legal Institute senior policy fellow Steve Milloy, who worked on the 2016 Trump transition team, credited President Donald Trump with the project’s success. Trump signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/deploying-advanced-nuclear-reactor-technologies-for-national-security/">executive order</a> in May encouraging “the rapid development, deployment, and use of advanced nuclear technologies to support national security objectives.”
“President Trump’s leadership is the reason this breakthrough is happening. It’s telling that, even in the face of historic progress, anti-nuclear activists would rather tear down solutions than acknowledge success. This project offers the American people exactly what they deserve: affordable, reliable, and clean energy,” Milloy told The Daily Wire in a statement.
