Former President Donald Trump told Candace Owens in an exclusive interview for The Daily Wire’s “Candace” that he doesn’t know if anti-Trump actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins “on purpose.”

Trump added that Baldwin is always “trouble,” noting of the actor’s past physical confrontations with a paparazzi.

“Let me just say this, he’s always trouble,” Trump told Owens during the sit-down interview, available for Daily Wire members.

“He goes out to talk to the press — nobody gets treated worse by the press than me, and I’m very hostile to them, likewise, but I don’t end up in fistfights with them on the streets,” Trump said.

“I mean, there’s something wrong. I think he’s crazy,” the former president asserted.

Earlier this month, a warrant for Baldwin’s cellphone was issued by authorities in New Mexico in connection to the actor killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza in an apparent gun incident in October on the set of “Rust.”

“He pointed the gun at this woman [Hutchins], and it happened to go off,” Trump told Owens. “And she wasn’t even an actor, so it’s not like at a scene … He just pointed a gun at her and it went off.”

“Did he do it on purpose? I don’t know, you tell me,” he said.

“He’s definitely not a stable person,” Trump added, agreeing with Owens. “He’s a nut job, actually.”

Baldwin in a past interview downplayed the likelihood that he’ll be charged in the fatal incident, citing people in the know. “No charges have been filed,” ABC News noted this month, “though none have been ruled out, either.”

During the same interview, Owens asked Trump why he did not pardon Julian Assange or Edward Snowden.

“You have two sides of it,” Trump explained. “In one case, you have sort of a spy deal going on, and in another case, you have somebody that’s exposing real corruption. I feel a little bit — I won’t say which one — but I feel a little bit more strongly about one than the other.”

“I could have done it, but — I will say, you have people on both sides of that issue — good people on both sides. And you have bad people on one side. But I decided to let that one ride, let the courts work it out. And I guess the courts are actually doing that.”

“There was some spying things, and there was some bad things released that really set us back and really hurt us with what they did,” Trump continued, seemingly speaking of Assange. “But at the same time, in many cases, what they did — these were the same people that came after me so viciously and dishonestly.”

“I could have gone — I was very close to going the other way,” Trump added.
