A 28-year-old transgender employee of a daycare center in California was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years behind bars for using her position to gain access to vulnerable children as young as four years old to produce, distribute, and possess child pornography.
Jace Wong, who formerly went by Robyn Danielle Wong, took photos and videos of young girls, ages four to six, in a daycare center’s bathroom and distributed them via a Kik account called “anontransboi” to others in a group, which was dubbed, “Younger love [heart emoji] [heart emoji],” according to court documents.
The daycare employee was caught when she unknowingly chatted with an undercover agent. Court documents show that Wong, during such communication, said, “Would love to do spy cams with my future kids one day,” and suggested the agent “could always play with her in her sleep,” referring to a child Wong thought the agent had.
Moreover, during an interview with authorities, Wong showed agents a hidden album on her smartphone that contained approximately 428 media files, “many of which contained videos and images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” court documents outlined.
Wong’s attorneys seem to have argued that their defendant committed the child sex crimes because of medical female-to-male gender transition treatments, which increased her “libido.”
“It is arguable, that the medical professionals involved in [Wong’s] gender transition should have exercised greater oversight and provided more guidance to this, at the time, young woman about the potential biological interactions of testosterone and [Wong’s] genetic disorder,” her defense team said, according to San Francisco Public Safety News.
A press release from the Department of Justice notably uses Wong’s preferred male pronouns.
“This case is heartbreaking, to say the least,” U.S. Attorney Ramsey said. “Jace Wong worked at daycare facilities and victimized at least six young children in his care, not to mention other minors whose images he possessed and distributed. It is not possible to measure the harm he caused. His decades-long prison sentence, however, makes crystal clear that the Department of Justice will work tirelessly to remove perpetrators who victimize our most vulnerable citizens — young children — from society so they cannot continue their heinous behavior.”

“Wong’s actions were shocking. Instead of attending to their safety, Wong exploited children of tender years for his own gratification. His sentence makes clear child predators will be held accountable,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Tripp added. ”The FBI is committed to protecting our most vulnerable citizens and apprehending sexual offenders.”
