Toby Keith shared an update with fans about his health and said he really feels like he’s “turning a corner” when it comes to his cancer battle.
During the 62-year-old country singer’s recent appearance on the “Superstar Power Hour” podcast, Keith said after battling stomach cancer for the last two years, he is starting to get stronger.
“I’m doing really good,” he told the host. “It’s been a tough two years, but I think I’m turning a corner. I don’t know if you’re ever done with it [cancer], but I’m trying to be.”
In December, the “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” hitmaker finally got back to touring and performed three sold-out shows at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in Las Vegas.

Keith told the host that he felt “weird in 2023,” noting that he’d never had a year off from performing in his life.
“And this is my 30th year in the [country music] business, so it was really weird just sitting here with your handcuffs on,” the singer explained.
The country singer recently made headlines when he blew everyone away with his performance at the People’s Choice Country Awards in September of his latest single, “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

He spoke to the host about how the inspiration from the song came after he appeared at a celebrity golf tournament with 93-year-old Clint Eastwood.
“I’m Clint Eastwood’s partner at his gold tournament — he’s 93 this year, by the way,” Keith said.
“Several years ago the first event I played with him… I [asked], ‘What keeps you going at your age?'” he added. “He said, ‘I try to get up every day and be productive — not let that old man in.'”
“So I came home and said, ‘I’m going to write him a song,'” Keith continued. “I didn’t know I was going to have to live those words in a few years.”
In an interview ahead of the awards show in September, Keith shared an update with fans following months of treatment and surgery after being diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021.
“I feel pretty good,” Keith told E! News. “It’s a little bit of a roller coaster. You get good days and, you know, you’re up and down, up and down. It’s always zero to 60 and 60 to zero, but I feel good today.”
