Hollywood star Kieran Culkin said he hates missing “more than two days” away from his kids because “they change” so much in that amount of time. He explained that was the reason he hesitates now when offered more long-term projects away from home.
The 40-year-old actor sat down and talked to filmmaker Taika Waititi for Interview and made it clear his top priority is being a father to him and wife Jazz Charton’s two kids.
“I have a 1 1⁄2-year-old and a 3 1⁄2-year-old, and we’re going to be bouncing around Poland,” Culkin said. “I don’t like being away from them for more than two days at a time, and it’s not practical for me to have them there the whole time.”
“I’m working on trying to convince my wife to come out for two weeks and bring the kids,” he added. “It’s just a lot on her.”

“I also think, ‘You know what? I’d rather be the at-home dad that’s very attentive than the one that’s always working,'” Culkin continued.
At one point the “Succession” star said he has a friend who’s away from their kids for a time and said he finds that surprising that it works for their family.
“I always saw it as, I need to be home,” Kieran said. “But then again, my kids are between 1 and 3. I do need to be home because if I go for a week, they change.”
He also talked about how lately he’s begun to really question his profession because of how hard it is for him to be away from his family, People magazine noted.
“I’m still always seeking advice, because of how hard it is for me to be away from my kids,” Culkin said. “I’ve started to second-guess what it is I do for a living. It’s the first time I’ve started to go, ‘Maybe I’ve chosen the wrong thing.'”
Kieran has grown up in the world of entertainment as the brother of Hollywood actor Macaulay Culkin. He briefly starred in the movie Macaulay is probably best known for as the kid who got left at home in the Christmas classic movie “Home Alone” in 1990 when he appeared on screen as cousin Fuller McAllister.
