<p>Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) apprehended a man who allegedly helped smuggle a 5-year-old girl across the Rio Grande River and into the United States near Del Rio on Friday.</p>
<p>The Texas DPS <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/02/us-news/texas-troopers-catch-smuggler-who-allegedly-carried-5-year-old-girl-across-border/">said</a> that one trooper stopped a pickup truck after learning that a man had been seen by border surveillance technology taking the young child across the border and into the United States.</p>
<p>Texas DPS Spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez stated that the smuggler transported the young girl into the vehicle of a different human smuggler who he was collaborating with before being driven to a hotel.</p>
<p>Texas DPS monitored the vehicle before conducting a traffic stop, where the law enforcement agents found the girl and arrested the alleged smuggler, Roman Ibarra Rojo, who was charged with smuggling a person younger than 18 years old. Rojo had previously been arrested for human smuggling in 2022, Olivarez stated.</p>
<p>Texas DPS also stated that Rojo admitted that he had agreed to smuggle the girl across the border in exchange for $1,000.</p>
<p>Also present was the mother of the young girl, Dolores Lopez, who Texas DPS says is originally from Mexico and is a temporary resident of North Carolina. Lopez, Texas DPS says, confessed to finding and hiring a smuggling organization to bring her daughter to the United States in exchange for $8,000.</p>
<p>Texas DPS referred Lopez and her daughter to Border Patrol and recommended that the mother be charged with endangering her child. The district attorney will now have the option to pursue charges against Lopez.</p>

<p>Immigration was one of the top issues in the presidential election, and President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to secure the southern border and initiate the largest mass deportation effort in American history.</p>

<p>Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem slammed a Democrat congressman over his advocacy for a deported illegal alien, charging that he has set out to “fight for a terrorist” instead of the people he was elected to represent.</p>
<p>Noem and Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) got into a heated spat during a meeting of the House Homeland Security Committee Wednesday morning, in which the Democrat advocated for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old deported Salvadoran illegal alien with suspected ties to MS-13 who is believed to have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/police-suspected-maryland-man-of-getting-paid-to-traffic-illegals-body-cam-footage-shows?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=5&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Police+Suspected+%E2%80%98Maryland+Man%E2%80%99+Of+%E2%80%98Getting+Paid%E2%80%99+To+Traffic+Illegals%2C+Body+Cam+Footage+Shows">engaged</a> in human smuggling. Earlier this year, the Trump administration designated the MS-13 gang as a foreign terrorist organization.</p>
<p>Goldman pressed Noem on DHS’s deportation of Abrego Garcia and the agency’s response to a Supreme Court order requiring the government to “facilitate” the return of the illegal alien from his home country of El Salvador back to the United States, despite not being a citizen or legal resident of America.</p>
<p>“What steps have you taken to return Mr. Abrego Garcia to allow him to get due process?” Goldman asked Noem, who explained that “Abrego Garcia is in his home country” before being interrupted by the congressman.</p>
<p>“It&#8217;s got to be extremely discouraging to be one of your constituents,&#8221; Noem continued. &#8220;To see you fight for a terrorist like this and not fight for them is extremely alarming to me, and I’m sure it is to them as well.”</p>
<p>Goldman’s advocacy for Abrego Garcia, who allegedly bragged that he could <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-darling-maryland-mans-wife-he-bragged-he-could-kill-me-and-get-away-with-it">murder his wife</a> and get away with it, comes after Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senator-headed-to-el-salvador-on-mission-to-bring-gang-member-back-to-america">flew to El Salvador</a> to visit the illegal alien.</p>
<p>Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blasted Goldman after his exchange with Noem, charging that “there is nothing Democrats love more than defending the cartels, the criminals, and the rapists.”</p>
<p>Greene and Goldman faced off earlier in the hearing after the Democrat objected to Greene’s request to file a post from Attorney General Pam Bondi highlighting Abrego’s alleged MS-13 ties in the Congressional record. Greene laid out the various entities that established Abrego’s ties to the criminal gang in response to Goldman’s unsuccessful attempt to keep the post from Bondi out of the Congressional Record.</p>
<p>“A Maryland County Police Gang Unit agreed that he is MS-13, a reliable confidential informant agreed that he is MS-13,” Greene noted. “ICE officers agreed that he is MS-13, an immigration judge agreed that he is MS-13, an appellate board agreed that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, your Maryland man, is MS-13.”</p>

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Slams Democrat For Advocating For Deported ‘Terrorist’

<p>Each year, migrants send tens of billions of dollars out of the United States — often landing in cartel coffers.</p>
<p>That may be good for migrants and drug lords, but it&#8217;s bad for the American economy. That&#8217;s why Congress is considering a new tax on money flowing out of the country. Advocates say the tax would penalize illegal immigration, impose new costs on criminal networks, and increase government revenue, all without impacting Americans&#8217; wallets.</p>
<p>Remittance outflows from the United States — when migrants send money back to their countries of origin — have steadily increased in recent years. <a href="https://www.migrationpolicy.org/programs/data-hub/global-remittances-guide">Data</a> from the Migration Policy Institute reveal that just over $66 billion was sent out of the American economy in 2020. That number climbed to $73.7 billion in 2021 and $81.6 billion in 2022. By 2023, remittance outflows hit nearly $86 billion.</p>
<p>Now, a five percent remittance tax, which is included in President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-one-big-beautiful-bill-gets-no-tax-on-tips-and-overtime">big, beautiful bill</a>,&#8221; could penalize illegal immigration, punish cartels, and create a new revenue stream for the American government.</p>
<p>Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) Media Director Ira Mehlman told The Daily Wire that a tax on remittances would recoup some of the money that is, in effect, exported out of the American economy.</p>
<p>“Many illegal aliens are working off-the-books, and therefore, no payroll taxes have been collected. Taxing the money as it leaves the country would be a way to recoup some of that revenue loss,” Mehlman said. “Even in cases where the money earned is being taxed, large-scale transfers of money to other countries have a negative impact on the American economy. Remittances essentially export money from our economy.”</p>
<p>“That is money that is not being spent locally, generating revenues such as sales tax, or creating new jobs in local economies,” he added.</p>
<p>But migrants transferring money to family members in their home countries aren’t the only ones sending money out of the American economy. Mehlman warned that cartels are known to launder drug money back to Mexico, allowing the transnational criminal enterprises to fund their smuggling operations.</p>
<p>He cited one Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/mexico-drugs-remittances/">investigation</a> that found that the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation Cartels recruited Mexican citizens and illegal aliens in the United States to launder the illicit funds, and that cartel drug money could make up 10 percent of all remittances to Mexico. The increase in total remittances, the investigation says, has allowed the laundered funds to blend in and fly under the radar.</p>
<p>“Placing a fee on remittances is crucial because the more money that is smuggled back into Mexico, the stronger the cartels become,” Mehlman told The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>So far, Oklahoma is the only state that has implemented a remittance fee. The state charges a 1% fee on wire transfers out of the country. State residents who pay their income tax are reimbursed for any fees they incur by wiring money through a tax credit. But those who do not pay taxes, including many illegal aliens, receive no such reimbursement, allowing the state to pull in <a href="https://cis.org/North/Oklahoma-Again-Reports-Increase-Taxes-Wired-Remittances">over $10 million</a> a year.</p>
<p>Congressman Kevin Hern (R-OK) <a href="https://hern.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=638">introduced</a> a federal bill modeled after his state’s legislation during the 2022 legislative session. He <a href="https://hern.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=886">reintroduced</a> his bill in 2023, with the support of then-Senator JD Vance, who introduced an accompanying bill in the upper chamber. The legislation would have imposed a 5% charge on outgoing wire transfers, and directed the proceeds to be used for border security measures. The bill similarly offered tax credits for those who paid the fee, allowing taxpayers to receive reimbursement.</p>
<p>Hern, who serves as the Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, told The Daily Wire that the legislative effort was an attempt to employ “every avenue available to target cartel activity and keep our people safe.”</p>
<p>“The cash flow from illegal immigrants in the States to their cartel partners in Mexico, Venezuela, and other countries is massive,” Hern said to The Daily Wire. It’s a two-fold win: remittance fees will help slow down the flow of those dollars to the cartels and will also create a new revenue source we can use to build the wall and secure our border.”</p>
<p>If Trump&#8217;s budget bill is passed as written, anyone sending money out of the country would have to pay a 5% tax. The only untaxed remittances would be those sent through a qualified transfer provider, which would be required to prove to the United States government that it authenticates the citizenship status of senders. American citizens who incur a tax on remittance payments would receive a refund in the form of a tax credit, just as Oklahomans do under current state law.</p>
<p>A remittance tax has also garnered the support of the America First Policy Institute, which <a href="https://americafirstpolicy.com/issues/state-legislative-priority-international-wire-transfer-fees2">says </a>that the measure “deters illegal immigration and trafficking networks.”</p>
<p>“Imposing a fee on outgoing wire transfers makes it less desirable for illegal aliens or smuggling and trafficking networks to remain in the state,” the group wrote in a policy brief. The organization also touted a fee on remittances as an effective tool to recoup lost tax revenue.</p>
<p>“In many instances, the wages illegal aliens receive working unlawfully in the country is untaxed income which financially harms states. Illegal aliens also may consume other state benefits like education for their children and medical care without paying into the system,” America First Policy Institute asserted. “This fee partially recoups some of the lost state revenue caused by illegal immigration in the state.”</p>
<p>Mehlman explained that the policy would be most effective at discouraging illegal immigration if it is paired with a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-one-simple-trick-that-could-lead-illegal-immigrants-to-self-deport?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=27&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=The+One+Simple+Trick+That+Could+Lead+Illegal+Immigrants+To+Self-Deport">national E-Verify mandate</a>, which would seek to prevent illegal aliens from gaining employment in the United States.</p>
<p>“The biggest incentive to illegal immigration is the ability to work here at a higher wage and send money home to family members,” he explained.</p>
<p>“The problem has been powerful business lobbies that have fought mandatory E-Verify because illegal immigration has become a source of subsidized labor for them — they get a low-wage worker, similarly skilled American workers lose out on jobs and wages, and everyone else bears the true costs of having large numbers of illegal aliens in our society.”<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

This New Tax Could Stop Illegal Immigration And Keep Money From Cartels

<p>The Episcopal Church’s refugee resettlement organization refused to resettle white South African refugees, citing a commitment to “racial justice.”</p>
<p>Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe <a href="https://apnews.com/article/south-africa-refugees-white-afrikaners-us-trump-52024f6d86fca76cfe7460a9f9bc6110">announced</a> the decision on behalf of Episcopal Migration Ministries on Monday, just a day after 49 South Africans began their journey to the United States.</p>
<p>“In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation and our historic ties with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, we are not able to take this step,” Rowe announced after the government contacted Episcopal Migration Ministries requesting assistance in resettling the South African refugees.</p>
<p>Rowe went on to say that the organization, which has a long history of receiving federal grants to resettle refugees, will terminate their agreements with the government. “We have determined that, by the end of the federal fiscal year, we will conclude our refugee resettlement grant agreements with the U.S. federal government.”</p>
<p>President Donald Trump extended refugee status to white South Africans amid concerns that the minority group is being subjected to racial discrimination and has been scapegoated by politicians who’ve called for violence against them.</p>
<p>“South Africa is confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY,” Trump said in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113936851614563699">post</a> on Truth Social in February. “It is a bad situation that the Radical Left Media doesn’t want to so much as mention. A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see.”</p>
<p>The Trump administration announced an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/addressing-egregious-actions-of-the-republic-of-south-africa/">executive order</a> just days later, offering white South Africans refugee status in the United States. The administration cited “hateful rhetoric and government actions fueling disproportionate violence against racially disfavored landowners,” as well as a new law that will “enable the government of South Africa to seize ethnic minority Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation.”</p>
<p>Controversy erupted after Julius Malema, a member of the National Assembly of South Africa, chanted &#8220;shoot to kill&#8221; and “kill the boer” at a political rally in reference to the Dutch South African population.</p>

Episcopal Church Refuses To Resettle White South African Refugees, Citing ‘Racial Justice’ Commitment

<p>Federal authorities say they have saved more than 100 children in an operation that resulted in the capture of more than 200 sex offenders.</p>
<p>The Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndny/pr/justice-department-announces-results-operation-restore-justice">announced</a> Wednesday that the FBI arrested 205 child sex offenders throughout the country in Operation Restore Justice, part of a nationwide crackdown on child sex trafficking and abuse that the agency says “resulted in the rescue of 115 children.”</p>
<p>“The Department of Justice will never stop fighting to protect victims — especially child victims — and we will not rest until we hunt down, arrest, and prosecute every child predator who preys on the most vulnerable among us,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi as she announced the operation, which took place over the course of five days. “I am grateful to the FBI and their state and local partners for their incredible work in Operation Restore Justice and have directed my prosecutors not to negotiate.”</p>
<p>Among the more than 200 suspects arrested in the operation are an illegal alien from Mexico, a former Washington D.C. police officer, and a Minnesota State Trooper and Army reservist. The suspects have been charged with a range of crimes, including child sex trafficking, possessing, producing, or distributing child sexual abuse material, and online enticement of minors.</p>
<p>Bondi also <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/05/07/us-news/hundreds-of-alleged-sex-predators-arrested-by-fbi-and-doj-kash-patel-and-pam-bondi-announce/">warned</a> parents that they must keep an eye on their children&#8217;s activity online to ensure that they are not being targeted by predators. “Parents, you have to know this is so serious, your child has no right to privacy on the internet, none,” Bondi noted. “You have to monitor what your kids are doing, whether they’re playing games on the internet, on social media, any other websites that children and teenagers frequent, an online predator can find them.”</p>
<p>FBI Director Kash Patel said that the success of the operation, which involved agents from 55 field offices, sends a clear message to those who prey on children. “Every child deserves to grow up free from fear and exploitation, and the FBI will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of those who exploit the most vulnerable among us,” Patel said.</p>
<p>“Operation Restore Justice proves that no predator is out of reach and no child will be forgotten. By leveraging the strength of all our field offices and our federal, state and local partners, we’re sending a clear message: there is no place to hide for those who prey on children.”</p>

<p>The mother of a man who was killed by an illegal alien praised the Trump administration for reopening a government office that supports families of Americans killed by illegals in a Department of Homeland Security first obtained by The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>Maureen Maloney&#8217;s son, Matthew Denice, was killed in 2011 by a drunk driving illegal alien who blew through a stop sign and dragged Denice for a quarter mile. <p>Trump established the VOICE Office in 2017. In June 2021, President Joe Biden shuttered the office and replaced it with the Victims Engagement and Services Line, which also allowed illegal immigrants to report crimes to ICE. At the time, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/ice-launches-victims-engagement-and-services-line-vesl">praised</a> the change, saying, &#8220;All people, regardless of their immigration status, should be able to access victim services without fear.&#8221;</p>

<p>Maloney says in the video that her son&#8217;s death was particularly tragic because it could have been prevented by stronger immigration enforcement.</p>
<p>“To find out that the person who took your child’s life was in the country illegally, and this could have been prevented, it makes you angry,” Maloney said while recounting the several run-ins with the law that the illegal alien had prior to taking the life of her son. “Matthew’s death was totally preventable.”</p>
<p>“He was an extrovert, everybody loved Matthew. He was voted the most dependable in high school,” Maloney said. “Matthew wanted to be a police officer, he wanted a large family.” Matthew’s stepfather, Mike Maloney, added that “he was a great human being. A great son, a great kid.”</p>
<p>“Far too many American lives have been lost because of illegal aliens driving drunk,&#8221; Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. “These Americans killed by drunk-driving illegal aliens should still be with us today, and we feel their absence in our schools and offices, at our dinner tables, and throughout our communities.”</p>
<p>Alex Wise Jr., a 10-year-old boy, was struck and killed by an illegal alien in Texas earlier this year. The driver was <a href="https://www.ntd.com/10-year-old-texan-dead-after-hit-and-run-involving-repeat-illegal-immigrant_973876.html">captured</a> by police and charged with drunk driving. Two 19-year-olds, Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin, were killed by another <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/23/us-news/illegal-immigrant-who-killed-young-couple-while-driving-drunk-could-be-set-free-after-serving-just-a-third-of-10-year-sentence/">drunk-driving illegal alien</a> in California in 2021. A mother and her 16-year-old son lost their lives when a drunk illegal alien who had been deported four different times <a href="https://thenationaldesk.com/news/americas-news-now/illegal-immigrant-deported-four-times-accused-of-killing-woman-son-in-colorado-dui-case-southern-border-biden-impeachment-jose-guadalupe-menjivar-alas-el-salvador-latin-america">caused a crash</a> in Colorado.</p>

An Illegal Immigrant Killed Her Son. She’s Grateful Trump Is Working To Help Families Like Hers.

<p>The Trump administration is taking a major step to super-charge deportation efforts by deputizing law enforcement across the country to carry out immigration enforcement, a Department of Homeland Security memo exclusively reviewed by The Daily Wire reveals.</p>
<p>The memo lays out that DHS has signed 598 agreements with state and local law enforcement groups, taking advantage of a <a href="https://www.ice.gov/287g"><span style="font-weight: 400">federal law</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> that allows the agencies to enforce certain aspects of immigration law. While these sorts of agreements existed in the previous administration, the number of agreements signed since Trump took office is already a</span><span style="font-weight: 400"> 316% increase from what was signed during four years of the Biden administration, the memo says.</span></p>
<p>The agreements could be one of the biggest keys to boosting deportation numbers, which members of the administration have <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/05/us/politics/trump-immigration-deportations-arrests.html">reportedly</a> grown frustrated with. With an estimated <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-alien-population-surges-to-record-high-bombshell-study-finds">18.6 million illegal aliens</a> currently present in the United States and a judiciary that has continuously stonewalled the Trump administration&#8217;s attempts to deport illegal aliens, the federal government may otherwise struggle to remove a significant share of the illegal population without support from law enforcement partners.</p>
<p>Under the agreement, state and local law enforcement agencies are able to conduct immigration enforcement operations with ICE oversight, use federal immigration databases to identify the status of arrestees, and initiate ICE detainers to hold illegal aliens until ICE can gain custody of them, providing what could be a massive force multiplier in the Trump administration’s effort to deport at least <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/04/12/one-million-deportations-goal/">one million</a> illegal aliens per year.</p>
<p>The administration says its collaboration with state and local law enforcement is yielding results.</p>
<p>“Since January 20, our partnerships with state and local law enforcement have led to over 1,100 arrests of dangerous criminal illegal aliens,” the Homeland Security memo says. “ICE has also trained over 5,000 officers across the country to help track down and arrest criminal illegal aliens in their communities.”</p>
<p>One far-left organization <a href="https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/grants/past?filter_keyword=immigrant+legal+resource+center">backed</a> by George Soros&#8217;s Open Society Foundations <a href="https://www.ilrc.org/practitioners/national-map-287g-agreements">complained</a> that these agreements “are designed to extend the reach of the Trump deportation machine.” Now, they’re proving to be an effective force multiplier for the Trump administration as it seeks to enforce federal immigration law.</p>
<p>One of these agreements resulted in Operation Tidal Wave, a first-of-its-kind joint immigration enforcement effort from Homeland Security and Florida.</p>

<p>“In just six days, 1,120 criminal illegal aliens were arrested, including dozens of rapists, murderers, drug traffickers, and MS-13 members,” the DHS asserts in its memo. “This resounding success is a preview of what is to come: Effective and efficient coordination at all levels of law enforcement to remove illegal aliens.”</p>
<p>State and local law enforcement agencies that do not sign onto an agreement with DHS are much more limited in how they can support the federal agency in its immigration enforcement campaign. While the agencies can comply with ICE detainer requests so long as they are not in a sanctuary jurisdiction, agencies that haven&#8217;t signed an agreement don&#8217;t have access to the federal immigration database and are unable to initiate the ICE detainers.</p>
<p>“America is no longer a sanctuary for criminal aliens,” the memo says, before adding a message for illegal aliens. “We will find you. We will hunt you down. We will deport you. And you will never come back.”</p>
