At a get-together in the Bronx with state Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr., a conservative Christian minister, Ted Cruz encountered protesters screaming at him that he was a “right-wing bigot.”
One protester littered his rant with the usual leftist talking points, shouting, “Ted Cruz has no business being in the Bronx. This is an immigrant community. We deal with climate change every single day, and he wants to say it doesn’t exist. We are one of the poorest congressional in the country, and to receive this right-wing bigot is an insult to our whole community.” The protester bellowed that he was “with the people” as police officers escorted him out of the Chino-Latino restaurant Sabrosura 2.
