Larry The Cable Guy was recently on Sean Hannity’s show promoting his substantial charity work and upcoming comedy tour “We Been Thinkin’ ” with fellow southern superstar and pal, Jeff Foxworthy, when the subject of Donald Trump came up. Sean wanted to know what he thought about Trump; Larry explained the key to the candidate’s giant popularity among the Right, who are almost exclusively the ones buying tickets to his comedy shows.
Hannity asked, “Do you like Trump?”
Larry responded with the common sense country wisdom that’s earned him his 60 million dollar fortune,
Yeah I do like a lot of stuff he says. Now, it’s far away from the election. I still wanna see what everybody else has. But, here’s why I like Trump, because he’s shoving a knife right into Political Correctness. That’s why I like Donald Trump.
And people will finally realize that’s why he’s popular. Because people are sick and tired of that garbage.
Sean adds, “You guys are funny because you say anything. It’s funny. We’ve lost our sense of humor.”
Larry,
We really have. And that’s what humor’s all about. Humor helps you deal with so many things. And people go, “Well, you shouldn’t have said that.” Well you you know what, maybe he deals with it in a different way that you deal with something. Maybe that guy over there deals with something different than you deal with something. That’s the cool thing about comedy. If you don’t like a certain comedian don’t go see a certain comedian.
