Sunny Hostin Blames ‘Misogyny’ And ‘Racism’ For Kamala Harris’ Public Image Struggles
Sunny Hostin blamed both “misogyny” and “racism” for Vice President Kamala Harris’ public image struggles following a report that the White House is attempting to elevate Harris ahead of 2024 election.
Things got heated on Tuesday’s episode of “The View” during a panel discussion about the Washington Post’s report “Biden Team Seeks To Boost Harris Ahead Of 2024,” with Hostin claiming that Harris has been scrutinized because of her race.
Alyssa Farah Griffin started things off by pointing out that “it’s her [Harris] time in office that I take a bit of issue with and having worked for a Vice President you kind of have two jobs: do no harm and try to keep a higher approval rating than your principal. She has not really been able to do either. And I feel like she hasn’t broken through on major policy accomplishments.”

“And she will, fairly or unfairly, be the most scrutinized vice president in history because she’s running with the oldest president running for president in history,” she added.
“And she’s also a black woman,” Hostin snapped.
“But I think you have to be able to fairly critique the Vice President of the United States without just saying it’s the color of their skin or the fact that she’s a woman,” Griffin replied, asking Hostin why she made it about race.
“Well, we’re in the United States of America,” Hostin shot back. “It’s not you. It’s just we’re in the United States of America.”
“And black women — and this is just not me saying it, I mean, there have been studies,” she added. “Black women are considered less articulate, they are considered uglier, they are considered all of these things by, you know, this country. And it’s because of the history, of course, of misogyny and sexism.”

When Hostin’s cohost Joy Behar agreed it was how women are treated, the cohost went further and said it’s “racism” too.
“I understand why they are boosting her at this point… because no Democratic nominee can win the general election without the black vote,” Hostin said. “I mean that is just a fact. I think in many respects she probably won that election for him [Biden]. So, black voters saved his campaign in 2020, they could also be why he loses it in 2024.”
Later in the show, Hostin slammed “white women” and said they vote for Republicans because that’s ” how their husbands are voting.”

“White women owned slaves as well… white women in particular want to protect the patriarchy here, because it’s to their benefit,” Hostin said. “They want to make sure their husbands do well. They want to make sure their sons do well… Most of the women in some of these studies are married, white women. They do fall in line with what their husbands are doing, how their husbands are voting.”
