On Tuesday, Variety published an op-ed from singer and vitriolic Trump-hater Barbra Streisand in which she hysterically ranted about the possibility of President Trump’s reelection, stating, “The ‘beacon of hope’ that is America could be extinguished if he’s given another four years.”
Streisand began by stating, “Mr. Trump, let’s make America great again. But first, get one thing straight: America was great — before you were elected.” Streisand must have confused Trump with New York Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo, who said in August 2018, “We’re not going to make America great again; it was never that great.”
Streisand continued, “Every morning I wake up, holding my breath while I turn on my phone to see the latest news. I think to myself, ‘It can’t be worse than yesterday.’ But when the news loads, I think, ‘Ohhhhh, yes, it is worse.’”
You know what that means: Streisand will get fat again, because as readers may recall, in March 2017 Streisand moaned, “Donald Trump is making me gain weight. I start the day with liquids, but after the morning news, I eat pancakes smothered in maple syrup!”

Back to the rant:
No wonder doctors report that more people than ever are anxious and depressed. Since 2016, we’ve been dragged down into the mud of Trump’s swamp. He has demolished our standing in the world with his laughable boasts and breathtaking ignorance. He has put the security of this country, and our planet, in a precarious position by abandoning the Paris climate accord and the Iran nuclear deal. He’s a one-man weapon of mass destruction … so reckless that he almost started a war.
After denigrating Trump’s attempts to deal with the coronavirus, Streisand showed off her history chops, in which she offered her leftist perspective:
We should have known from the beginning, when Trump fired James Comey for refusing to pledge loyalty to him, as if he were a king. But in America, we pledge allegiance to the flag, not one particular person. And the president swears to uphold the Constitution, which sets out the rules of law that every citizen, even the president, must obey.
Preaching that Trump thinks the rules don’t apply to him, commenting, “He fires people who obey the law and tell the truth,” Streisand adds, “That’s Trump’s world. It’s a place of paranoia, hypocrisy and lies, so many lies (16,000 and counting).”
Of course, as a paragon of truth-telling, we shouldn’t remind the diva that in August 2016, she threatened to leave America if Trump was elected president. Speaking to Sydney-based journalist Michael Usher, Streisand said, referring to Trump, “He has no facts. I don’t know, I can’t believe it. I’m either coming to your country [Australia], if you’ll let me in, or Canada.”
The woman simply won’t keep her word.
Then, of course, Streisand turns to lionizing Barack Obama: “Trump can never live up to Obama’s legacy, so he’s trying to erase it. He inherited a growing economy and now claims credit for it, saying it’s the best in history … but that’s another lie.”
Streisand concludes, “In this upcoming election, we must bring back dignity and grace … We need a new America, without pollution, without obscenities, without insults, without revenge.”
Dignity and grace? Without obscenities, without insults?
Why, only last October Streisand posted a tweet showing a bloody President Trump impaled by the stiletto heel of the shoe of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. What appeared to be blood is dripping from the impaled chest of Trump.
