On April 23, parents across the country will keep their children at home in an effort to send a message to public school boards and elected officials that sex education has become “pornographic.”
“Most parents do not know this is taking place in schools,” said Elizabeth Johnston, a conservative who writes a blog under the name “Activist Mommy” and is one of the protest’s organizers. “The wool is completely being pulled over their eyes, and sometimes when parents catch on and start inquiring, bureaucrats are using deceptive means of not informing them what is being taught.”
Johnston said parents would not “stand for the kind of graphic, gender-bending sex ed” that public schools are now teaching. “We send our kids to school to learn reading and writing and science and history, not how to question whether they really are a boy or a girl, and certainly not how to have anal and oral sex,” Johnston told CBN News.
“This is pathetic. This is not what we send our kids to school for, and parents are waking up and this is what we wanted to happen. We wanted parents who were in the dark to finally wake up to the terrible nature of what’s going on in the public schools.”
In an interview with CBN News, Johnston said, “We are asking parents across the nation and even across the globe to pull their children out of public school on April 23rd.
“We have a letter that they can send to their principal explaining why because we are protesting graphic, gender-bending sex education in the schools,” she continued.
Johnston added, “It’s been brought to the attention of some of us mothers that parents are grieved and increasingly troubled about the graphic nature of sex education. Even as young as elementary school students are being subjected to this.”
Johnston also said that “kids are being taught how to perform anal and oral sex on one another, during class time, at taxpayer expense. We are fed up. Enough is enough. We’re not going to let these social Marxists sexualize our children at taxpayer expense during school hours.”
The “Sex Ed Sit Out” began in Charlotte, North Carolina, but now more than a dozen other cities — in three countries — plan to keep their children home on April 23. Protests are planned in Decorah, Iowa; Garden Grove and Sacramento, California; Bloomington, Indiana; Austin and San Antonio, Texas; Spokane, Washington; and Martinsburg, West Virginia. Rallies also are scheduled in Vancouver, British Columbia and Mulgrave, Australia.
“Cities such as Rocklin, California and Fairfax County, Virginia have recently been the focus of news headlines because of controversial, gender-bending, and graphic sex education and anti-bullying programs. Parents say they were not informed that these programs would be taught to their children, sometimes as young as five years old,” the organizers write on their website.
“Please join us by Signing Our Declaration to say NO to graphic, immoral sex education for our kids! And join in the ‘Sex Ed Sit Out’ protest on Monday, April 23rd by pulling your kids out of public school for the day.”
