SEE IT: British Royal Family Shares Touching Tribute To Dolly Parton

The entire world is mourning the loss of country music legend Dolly Parton, including the British royal family.

The official royal family X account posted a video Wednesday morning, the day after Parton’s death at the age of 80, showing a unique musical tribute. In it, members of the King’s Guard wearing their signature bearskin headwear play an instrumental version of the classic single, “9 to 5.” 

“Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort, and inspiration to so many — including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always [love] you,” the accompanying caption said.

Parton is believed to be one of the last universally beloved celebrities whose popularity transcended political sides and music genres. Immediately following the news of her death after a short battle with cancer, musicians and world leaders shared words about what Parton meant to them personally, and to the world. 

“Very sad to report that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest Country singers, and far beyond, EVER, has just passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and never will,” President Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

“In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a one week period beginning tonight at 6:00PM,” he continued. “Rest in Peace, Dolly! The World loves you.”

Both senators from Parton’s home state of Tennessee also reacted to news of her death.

“Tennessee has lost one of its greatest legends- a woman who never lost sight of her faith, her roots, or the Volunteer Spirit. [Dolly Parton] was a true Tennessee treasure, and her legacy will forever be defined by her love of faith, family, and the place she proudly called home,” Senator Bill Hagerty (TN-R) said.

Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN-R) posted a photo of herself with Parton for her tribute. “There are no words to adequately express the sorrow our family and indeed, all Tennesseans, feel in the loss of Dolly Parton. An iconic leader who loved our great state and nation. Her passing leaves a void that no one can ever fill. Dolly, we will always love you,” it said.

Parton founded the Imagination Library in 1995 and gave away more than 100 million free books. The singer created the organization to honor her late father, who never learned to read.
