Anthony Scaramucci will appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday.
Yes, that Sir Lancelot of Locution, that Doctor of Diction, that Artist of Articulation, the man who never uses a dignified phrase where a prurient phrase will do, is going to grace the American public with some well-chosen words as he makes his first public appearance on a comedy show since his summary termination, which followed his tumultuous week as Communications Director for the Trump Administration.
It was a dizzying ten days; on July 21, Scaramucci was appointed Communications Director, beginning work on July 25, although he had not been sworn in. After his infamous expletive-laden interview with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker, his plunge was as rapid as his rise. On July 31, he was fired by President Trump, as recommended by Trump’s Chief of Staff, General John Kelly.
