Jumping on the bandwagon of Orwellian doublethink propounded by members of the left eager to obliterate gender distinctions, San Diego State University will no longer honor a homecoming “king” and “queen,” choosing to honor two “Royals,” be they LGBTQAAII (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Pansexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Intergender, Asexual, Ally) – or whatever floats your boat.
Yup, no more of that simple boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-gets-girl romance; this Saturday, SDSU will select from a panoply of choices reflecting the vast cultural wasteland that America has become.
The Daily Aztec campus newspaper trumpeted, “During the application process, candidates were allowed to select gender-neutral pronouns to identify themselves. These gender-inclusive pronouns aim to dispel the common gender binary of categorizing people as solely masculine or feminine.”
On Wednesday, Jordan Dennison, chairman of the SDSU College Republicans, emailed The College Fix his outrage, stating, “It’s just a case of the PC police feeling the need to screw with an all-American tradition under the façade of ‘progression.’ Imagine all of the alumni at the game who are going to see that and wonder ‘what the hell was SDSU thinking?’”

But SDSU Women’s Resource Center Coordinator Jessica Nare enthused, “We are lucky to be on a campus that is really diverse, and so I think having systems in place that reflect the students on campus is a really positive thing. The reality is we don’t live in a gender-binary system and so really recognizing that in a public way is really important and exciting.”
