Robocall Supporting Trump And David Duke

   DailyWire.com

A new robocall supporting Donald Trump would likely have been shunned by prior GOP candidates; it’s allegedly from the campaign of former KKK leader David Duke and is being sent to Louisiana residents.

The call states:

Hi, this is David Duke. I’m sorry I missed you. I’m running for U.S. Senate. I’ll tell the truth that no other candidate will dare say. Unless massive immigration is stopped now, we’ll be outnumbered and outvoted in our own nation. It’s happening. We’re losing our gun rights, our free speech. We’re taxed to death. We’re losing our jobs and businesses to unfair trade. We’re losing our country. Look at the Super Bowl salute to the Black Panther cop killers. It’s time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me, David Duke for the U.S. Senate. I’d love to hear from you. Together, we’ll save America and save Louisiana. Paid for by the Duke campaign.

Ronald Reagan openly denounced the KKK during his presidential run in 1980, stating, “I have no tolerance with what the Klan represents and I want nothing to do with it,” then reiterated his rejection in 1984 when the KKK endorsed him again, writing the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights:

Those of us in public life can only resent the use of our names by those who seek political recognition for the repugnant doctrines of hate they espouse. The politics of racial hatred and religious bigotry practiced by the Klan and others have no place in this country, and are destructive of the values for which America has always stood.

Unlike Reagan and Bob Dole, who in his acceptance speech in 1996 told racists to get up and leave, Trump has shown no willingness to condemn the racists that support him, even claiming last week he did not know what the alt-right racist movement was despite the term being front and center with the emergence of former Breitbart CEO Steve Bannon as Trump’s campaign chairman. Bannon had reportedly bragged of Breitbart that the site was the “platform for the alt-right.”

Dole, unlike Trump, proudly stood on the shoulders of Lincoln to condemn racism, saying bluntly:

The Republican Party is broad and inclusive. It represents many streams of opinion and many points of view. But if there’s anyone who has mistakenly attached themselves to our party in the belief that we are not open to citizens of every race and religion, then let me remind you, tonight this hall belongs to the Party of Lincoln. And the exits which are clearly marked are for you to walk out of as I stand this ground without compromise.

The Trump campaign’s own polling reportedly showed in June that a multitude of voters described him as “unqualified” and “racist.” A Morning Consult poll released on Sunday found only 5% of black voters supporting Trump.

Trump didn’t help himself with his ill-considered tweet regarding the death of the cousin of NBA star Dwyane Wade over the weekend.
