<p>The 66-year-old actress on Tuesday posted on Tuesday a screenshot on social media of a <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12116439/Tom-Hanks-embroiled-heated-altercation-Asteroid-City-premiere-Cannes.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> article reporting Wilson and Hanks appearing to have a tense exchange at the event.</p>
<p>The headline read, &#8220;Tom Hanks &#8216;Embroiled In Heated Altercation&#8217; At &#8216;Asteroid City&#8217; Premiere In Cannes.&#8221; Wilson and the &#8220;Forrest Gump&#8221; star were at the festival for the premiere of their Wes Anderson movie &#8220;Asteroid City.&#8221;</p>
<p>The actress captioned the screenshot, &#8220;This is called I can&#8217;t hear you. People are screaming. What did you say? Where are we supposed to go?'&#8221;</p>

<p>Before Wilson responded to the report, headlines surfaced showing images of the &#8220;Cast Away&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tom-hanks-spills-details-on-the-christmas-gift-he-gets-every-year-from-tom-cruise" target="_blank" rel="noopener">star</a> pointing and making terse looks at the man, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/05/24/rita-wilson-reveals-truth-behind-her-tom-hanks-scolding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> noted. In another photo, Wilson and Hanks are both gesturing in opposite directions, possibly appearing to get instructions about where to go.</p>
<p>Festival employee Vincent Chaplain (who has identified himself as the man on the red carpet with them) also responded to the reports, tweeting, &#8220;They just asked me if they should go back to the start of the mat with the rest of the film crew (I&#8217;m not security) wink.&#8221;</p>
