A prominent campaign account for Republican Winsome Sears, who defeated Democrat Hala Ayala for lieutenant governor in Virginia, swiftly trolled Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday.
“Following her victory over Democratic opponent Hala Ayala, Sears, a Republican, posted a photoshopped image of her own face on Harris’ body with the caption ‘We did it, @TeamYoungkin,’ congratulating fellow Republican Glenn Youngkin on his victory in Virginia’s gubernatorial election,” the Daily Caller reported.
It’s unclear if Sears is manning the account herself, but @WinWithWinsome has been reposted by Sears’ personal account, which is cited on her campaign website, as recently as Tuesday.

The image the account mimicked is from a video Harris posted to her Twitter account on November 7, 2020, after the Biden-Harris ticket won the election.
“We did it. We did it, Joe. You’re going to be the next President of the United States,” said Harris, apparently out on a run.
The image of the VP telling “Joe” they “did it” has become a viral meme, typically used to mock Harris and the Biden administration generally.

In a follow-up tweet, the Sears account posted, “Being told from many new followers that I’m ‘based.’ I need to be caught up on the new lingo, but I’m guessing this is a compliment? My supporters are just as ‘based’! Love to all and thanks for helping us reach 10k. #BasedWinsome.”

It was nothing short of a Red wave Tuesday night in Virginia. Aside from Sears’ win, Republican Glenn Youngkin upset Democrat favorite Terry McAuliffe in the gubernatorial race, and Republican Jason Miyares defeated sitting Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring to become the state’s first Latino AG.
As highlighted by The Daily Wire, enthusiasm to get to the polls seemed to swing toward Republicans following a sexual assault scandal at a public school:
Days before the election, in the waning days of the election, an alleged sexual assault in a school girls bathroom by a male student wearing a skirt — a story broken by The Daily Wire — along with outrage over school boards unilaterally deciding what children will be taught, took center stage. That has reportedly led to high enthusiasm by Republicans to hit the polls.
Sears on Tuesday night gave a patriot address following her win, The Daily Wire reported:
“I am at a loss for words for the first time in my life,” Sears said. “So, I’m here because of you. I’m here because you voted for me; I’m here because you put your trust in me. That’s the only reason I’m here. Thank you.”
“I say to you, there are some who want to divide us and we must not let that happen,” she said. “They would like us to believe we are back in 1963, when my father came. We can live where we want; we can eat where we want; we own the water fountains. We have had a black president elected not once, but twice, and here I am living proof. In case you haven’t noticed, I am black and I have been black all my life.”
“But that’s not what this is about. What we are going to do is we are going to now be about the business of the Commonwealth,” she continued. “We have things to tend to, we are going to fully fund our Historically Black Colleges and Universities. You’re gonna hear from your governor-elect Glenn Youngkin. And he’s got a day one plan that I’m already tired about; I don’t know how we’re gonna make it to day two. But he’s going to make sure we keep more of our money in our pockets because he’s going to get rid of all kinds of taxes. We’re gonna have safer neighborhoods, safer communities, and our children are going to get a good education because education lifted my father out of poverty, education lifted me out of poverty, education will lift us all out of poverty because we must have marketable skills so that our children can not just survive, but they will thrive, and they will create generational wealth. That’s what this is about.”
