Authorities say an illegal alien from Honduras who stabbed a 14-year-old girl with what is believed to be a butcher knife and fled the scene has been arrested.
The teenage girl was watching her brother’s baseball game in Lowell, Indiana, on Saturday when she was allegedly stabbed in the hand by a man who authorities say was residing in the country illegally after being previously deported.
Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old Honduran native, was captured by law enforcement in a manhunt that ended on Sunday, a day after the stabbing.

“Investigators have learned Yanez had been deported to Honduras in 2018 and may have been engaged in criminal activity across the United States since returning to the country illegally,” Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said. “The US Department of Homeland Security has been notified of his arrest today.”
Law enforcement also noted that Yanez allegedly attempted to attack the girl’s mother when she tried to intervene.
The attack comes amid a broader wave of violent crime from illegal aliens, some of whom have entered the United States under the Biden-Harris administration.
Georgia nursing student Laken Riley was allegedly killed by Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela, on February 22, 2024. There’s also the case of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who is believed to have been murdered by two adult illegal immigrants from Venezuela who entered the United States during the Biden-Harris administration.

Juan Carlos Garcia-Rodriguez illegally entered the United States in January 2023 before allegedly sexually assaulting and murdering an 11-year-old child. Garcia-Rodriguez said he came to the United States “for academic and work opportunities” and “to live a better life” just months before allegedly committing the murder.
The wave of violent attacks from illegal aliens comes amid an unprecedented immigration crisis. More than 10 million people have crossed the border under the Biden-Harris administration, with an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded since Biden was inaugurated in 2021. There were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 during the Trump administration.
