On Friday, responding to the ludicrous tweet from abortion champion and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Thursday saying she was concerned about “God’s creation” and “generations to come,” former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley ripped Pelosi on Twitter, stating, “Does God’s creation not include protecting babies as well Madame Speaker? A committee on that issue would be welcome.”
Pelosi’s tweet was celebrating the inception of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, which was established in January when the Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives. Pelosi had tweeted on Thursday, “We have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come. That is why today, we named members to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. #ActOnClimate.”
You can tell how staunchly pro-life Haley is by looking at the reaction Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion provider, had when President Trump announced he would select her as the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Planned Parenthood cried:
As a leading women’s health care provider and advocate in the United States and globally, Planned Parenthood is deeply troubled by the nomination of Governor Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the United Nations. Ambassador to the United Nations plays a critical role representing the United States on the global stage and advocating for the interests of women and girls worldwide, among other marginalized communities. It is very concerning to see a candidate with a notable lack of international experience coupled with a long track record of attacking women’s health in South Carolina, including having recently signed an extreme anti-abortion law opposed by the medical community. …
Should Governor Haley be confirmed, Planned Parenthood will be watching to see if she leaves behind her ideological agenda that has put the health and safety of women in South Carolina at risk – and focus on continuing the U.S.’s role as a leader for women’s rights internationally.
Planned Parenthood had good reason to panic; Haley followed through at the U.N. with strongly pro-life actions. As Rai Rojas, the director of Hispanic outreach for the National Right to Life Committee, wrote at LifeNews.com:
At the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, the American delegation, for the first time referenced, “voluntary and informed family planning” and kept out the additional controversial pro-abortion language. At the United Nations Commission on Population and Development, the American delegation held strong to reject a document that ignored the sovereignty of UN member states.
During negotiations of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Humanitarian Resolution, the American delegation worked closely with other member states to keep out the radical pro-abortion language. Ambassador Haley repeatedly gave her delegation free reign to negotiate the life issue in the strongest of terms. Unwavering, and pro-life. Those who worked for her who came out of the pro-life movement describe her as, “awesome,” “amazing,” and “brilliant.”
Haley has written:
When [my future husband Michael] was three, he and his our siblings were removed from their home by the state. His biological mother got in a car accident and suffered a brain injury. She was no longer able to care for the kids, so Michael and his two sisters were put in foster care in one home, and two others went to different homes nearby. When he was four, he and his younger sister were adopted by an amazing couple, Bill and Carole Haley, who couldn’t have children of their own. … In politics people assume that if you’re a Republican you’re prolife because the party tells you to be. I’m prolife because I got a chance to spend every day with the love of my life knowing that I am blessed that someone saved his life. I would be lost without him.
