More than 1 million illegal immigrants have been encountered on the southern border in just the first six months of fiscal year 2024, an unpublished Customs and Border Patrol report reveals.

The finding comes from an unpublished Customs and Border Patrol report obtained by Breitbart News, which found that nearly 140,000 migrants were apprehended on the southern border in March 2024. The figure brings the total number of apprehensions for fiscal year 2024, which began on October 1st, 2023, to 1,034,000 in just six months.

The report found that the Tucson Border Patrol sector had the largest number of apprehensions in March at 42,000, with the sector reporting 342,000 apprehensions since the beginning of October. The sector experienced 50,000 apprehensions in February, an increase of more than 85% when compared to February of the previous year.

The San Diego sector reported the second-highest number of apprehensions for March 2024 at over 33,000, marking a slight increase from the preceding month. The El Paso sector experienced the third-highest number of apprehensions in March 2023 at roughly 30,000.

Many of the immigrants apprehended at the border have been allowed to enter the country on asylum claims, with hundreds of thousands being flown to cities deeper into the interior of the country.

As many as 320,000 foreign nationals have also been flown all across the country by the Biden Administration to at least 43 different American airports. Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) proposed an amendment that would prevent the administration from using taxpayer dollars to fund these flights, but it failed by a vote of 47 to 51 with every single Democrat Senator voting to allow the flights to continue.

The data comes out as the United States faces an unprecedented surge of illegal aliens with over 10 million crossing the border since Joe Biden took office. There have also been an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded since Biden took office in 2021. There were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration.

Biden faces severe disapproval among the public for his handling of the border, with a recent poll finding that only 36 percent of registered voters saying they approve of his performance on the issue, the lowest of any topic.
