The digital immigration platform expanded under the Biden administration, called the CBP One app, has been used by hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens who’ve been released into the interior of the U.S., Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents obtained by the House Committee on Homeland Security reveal.
The Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) One app, which has been expanded by the Biden administration, allows foreign nationals to remotely schedule asylum appointments. New data, obtained by the House Committee on Homeland Security after it demanded documents from DHS, shows that a staggering 95.8% of all inadmissible aliens who used the app were released into the United States with a notice to appear in immigration court. Reports from May found that there are roughly 2.1 million immigration court cases, with some foreign nationals receiving court dates as late as 2032 and 2035.
“Hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens, including from hostile nations like Russia,” have been released into the interior of the United States, a press release from the House Homeland Security Committee explains.
It lists a country-by-country breakdown of the data, also stating that, of 278,431 scheduled appointments, 266,846 of the individuals were released into the country.
A full 97% of foreign nationals from Venezuela, or 55,690 of the 57,381 appointments, were released into the U.S., the data reveals. Meanwhile, 94% of Russians, 19,780 of their 20,948 appointments, allowed the individual to be released into the U.S.
Out of 246 appointments of those from Afghanistan, 93%, or 229 cases, resulted in the appointment holder being let into America. For those from China, 32 of the 36 appointments, 88% of them, resulted in an individual being let into the U.S.
Those from the Mexico and two northern triangle countries, Honduras and Guatemala, boasted release rates ranging from 93% to 96%, with 55,099 foreign nationals from Mexico alone getting released into the U.S. through the digital platform.
“Secretary Mayorkas has utterly abused the CBP One app in his quest for open borders,” Representative and Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) charged. “These numbers are proof that Mayorkas’ operation is a smokescreen for the mass release of individuals into this country who would otherwise have zero claim to be admitted.”
Green also highlighted the potential security risks associated with releasing the foreign nationals into America, stating “At a time when global tensions are rising, and our enemies are growing bolder, releasing tens of thousands of these people into our communities—especially when they have not received adequate, if any, vetting—is irresponsible.”
“It shouldn’t take a subpoena threat from Congress to get these answers, but we are going to keep fighting for the truth,” he added.
The new data comes after reports found that Mexican drug cartels were taking advantage of the CBP One app to line their pockets, selling virtual private networks to foreign nationals, allowing them to request appointments from anywhere in the world rather than just inside the geofence targeting northern Mexico.
The release of over a quarter million foreign nationals into the U.S. through the CBP One app comes against a backdrop of a record-breaking surge of illegal immigration, with an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways being recorded since Biden took office in 2021.
There were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration. The number of illegal border crossings jumped to a record high in fiscal year 2022.
A recent poll from CBS News found that an overwhelming majority of voters, 66%, said that they disapprove of President Biden’s handling of immigration, while just 34% said that they approve.
