Oreo Cookies Hands Out ‘Pronoun Packs’ To Celebrate All Gender Identities

   DailyWire.com

Over the weekend, Oreo Cookies decided they would join the intersectional pronoun bandwagon. On Saturday, the official Oreo Twitter and Instagram accounts stated, “We’re excited to announce we’ll be at World Pride 2019 in New York City tomorrow, June 30th! Celebrate with us at PrideFest, or go to our Instagram tomorrow to learn more about what we’re doing and follow along with us.”

On Sunday, Oreo Cookies handed out special edition “Pronoun Packs” to PrideFest visitors, and tweeted, “We’re proud to celebrate inclusivity for all gender identities and expressions.” Oreo Cookies continued that they wanted “everybody to share their pronouns with #Pride today and every day.”

Romper wrote, “Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that these Pronoun Packs will be available for purchase in stores. In a response to a customer question via Twitter, the official Oreo Twitter account wrote, “These special edition packs are not available for sale. Rest assured, we will continue to offer new products that respond to the preferences of our consumers.” So unless you were in NYC for PrideFest — or unless people decide to sell them on eBay — sadly, you won’t be able to get your hands on a pack.”

In 2012, Oreo posted an ad displaying an Oreo cookie with rainbow colored crème to celebrate LGBT Pride month; the cookie was never produced. The ad read, ““Made with creme colours that do not exist.” After a similar cookie with the headline “Proudly Support Love!” was posted on Oreo’s Facebook page, Basil Maglaris, associate director of corporate affairs for Kraft, stated, “Kraft Foods has a proud history of celebrating diversity and inclusiveness. We feel the OREO ad is a fun reflection of our values. There has been a lot of buzz about the image, and it shows how relevant OREO is to people even after 100 years.”

Oreos were introduced in 1912, and have become the most popuular cookies in the United States. As foodprocessing.com reported in 2005, “Oreo worldwide is so popular that if every Oreo cookie ever made (more than 490 billion) were stacked on top of each other, the pile would reach to the moon and back more than six times. It was the best selling cookie of the 20th century.”

In the last decade, Oreo began releasing limited edition versions of their cookies. Some of them have included:

Birthday Cake Oreo, available from February to July 2012, to celebrate Oreo’s 100th birthday; Lemon Twist Oreo, with a lemon flavored crème filling; Neapolitan Oreo, available in 2012; Watermelon Oreo, which came out in 2013; Strawberries n’ Creme Oreo, also from 2013; Fruit Punch Oreo, from 2014; Cookie Dough Oreo, also from 2014; Root Beer Float Oreo, July 2014, Pumpkin Spice Oreo, September 2014; Red Velvet Oreo, first released in February 2015 then later reintroduced; Key Lime Pie Oreo, July 2015, Cinnamon Bun Oreo, January 2016; S’mores Oreo, summer 2016, Fruity Crisp Oreo, June 2016; Blueberry Pie Oreo, June 2016; Swedish Fish Oreo, August 2016; Peeps Oreo, February 2017; Waffles & Syrup Oreo, May 2017; Chocolate Hazelnut Oreo, January 1, 2018; Salted Caramel Oreo, 2018, Firework Oreo, produced around Fourth of July in the United States; Peppermint Bark Oreo, October 2018, and Easter Egg Oreo , January 2019.
