Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), the former White House physician for former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, slammed President Joe Biden on Thursday following the first press conference of his presidency, saying that, in his judgment, the 78-year-old president “struggled.”
“This ‘Press Brief’ was EMBARRASSING!” Jackson wrote on Twitter. “Not only for Biden, but for the liberal press corps as well. He struggled to make it through, despite the fact that he followed a strict order of reporters to call on and was reading what appeared to be prepared answers from the podium.”
“Could you imagine what the press would have done if Donald Trump had pulled something like this?” Jackson continued. “Helps when the ‘press’ are your biggest fans! Shameful and Embarrassing!!”

“I served as White House physician under THREE Presidents,” Jackson tweeted at the start of the week, just days after Biden fell three times while trying to walk up the steps to Air Force One. “I’ve seen what it takes physically AND mentally to do the job. I can tell you right now that the way Biden is hiding from the public is a MAJOR red flag. Something’s not right!”
Jackson reported to the White House Medical Unit (WHMU) during the Bush era in 2006, but he did not start as physician to the president until July 2013, a position that he served in until March 28, 2018. Jackson served as WHMU director from March 2010 through December 2014. Jackson also served as the first chief medical advisor to the president from February 2019 until December 2019. Jackson later ran as a Republican in Texas’s 13th Congressional District in this last election cycle and won.
Biden was widely criticized over his press conference performance with many slamming him for appearing to use a pre-selected list of reporters to call on mostly friendly reporters. Even Fox News host Chris Wallace, who is a registered Democrat, panned Biden’s performance, saying that he’s “never seen” a president that needed to rely on reading directly off of prepared notes to answer questions. Biden failed to call on Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, who asks the administration tough questions in a respectful manner.
Reporters failed to ask Biden questions about bombshell allegations and federal criminal investigations into his son. Reporters failed to ask Biden any questions about the pandemic, even though more than 100,000 Americans have died on his watch in just over two months. Reporters also failed to ask any questions about holding China accountable for the coronavirus pandemic that originated in their country and their subsequent scandalous handling of the outbreak.
