<p>A new social media platform called Moltbook, designed for AI agents only, is raising concerns online, including from tech billionaire Elon Musk.</p>
<p>Moltbook, a project from Peter Steinberger, allows for AI agents to interact with each other without any human prompting. The machines can create posts, comment, and interact with one another, while humans can only observe their interactions.</p>
<p>The project has exploded online in recent days over some of the conversations from the machines, like the talks of creating an AI-only language.</p>

<p>Some experts are warning that without the right security safeguards in place, there are real risks of system compromise, data leakage, and unpredictable agent behavior.</p>

<p>On Friday, a young woman who had her healthy breasts removed at age 16 for supposed transgender &#8220;medical care&#8221; was awarded $2 million, marking the first successful detransitioner malpractice lawsuit in the nation.</p>
<p>Fox Varian&#8217;s psychologist and surgeon were held liable by a jury in Westchester, New York, according to independent reporter Benjamin Ryan, who attended the three-week trial.</p>
<p>Ryan suggested the case is just the beginning of detransitioner lawsuits he&#8217;s been following and that, ultimately, these sorts of results could discourage doctors from advising or performing these types of life-altering surgeries on minors.</p>
<p>&#8220;My sources suggest that tort law might permanently destroy this field,&#8221; he <a href="https://x.com/benryanwriter/status/2017431937330069926">said</a>.</p>

Detransitioner Awarded Millions In First Malpractice Verdict: ‘This Is How It All Ends’

<p>A major nurses union is holding secretive training sessions for union members to learn how to &#8220;fight&#8221; federal immigration enforcement in their hospitals.</p>
<p>An email reviewed by The Daily Wire reveals that the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) is promoting training sessions for nurses to resist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in hospitals.</p>
<p>ONA, which represents around 15,000 nurses, is the largest nurses union in Oregon. As an affiliate of National Nurses United—the largest nurses union in the United States—ONA also wields influence at the national level.</p>
<p>Notably, the email says that the sessions will not be recorded or posted publicly, adding a secretive element to the training sessions.</p>
<p>The email addresses &#8220;ONA members&#8221; with the subject line, &#8220;Trainings: Accountability for ICE&#8221; and reads as follows:</p>
<p dir="auto">&#8220;As frontline healthcare workers, we are entrusted with a fundamental responsibility: to preserve life, reduce harm, and provide care with dignity to everyone who comes through our doors,&#8221; the email continues. &#8220;As ICE and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) activity increases across Oregon, that responsibility is in jeopardy. Intimidation and the use of force create fear that keeps immigrant communities from seeking care and until conditions become life-threatening. This fear directly interferes with our ethical, professional, and legal duties and endangers lives rather than protecting public safety.&#8221;</p>
<p dir="auto">The training sessions were promoted as being run by ONA’s &#8220;Legal and Government Relations teams,&#8221; advancing &#8220;critical training and opportunity to join the fight against ICE and CBP in our hospitals.&#8221;</p>
<p dir="auto">ONA offered two sessions, one early Wednesday, and one Thursday morning.</p>
<p dir="auto">&#8220;The trainings will provide essential context on our role in this fight, practical guidance for frontline staff, and updates on our collective advocacy efforts,&#8221; nurses are told.</p>

<p>Specifically, the training promised to cover nurses&#8217; &#8220;legal rights and obligations as a healthcare worker if ICE or CBP enter your facility,&#8221; &#8220;ONA’s efforts to hold ICE accountable,&#8221; and &#8220;Opportunities to engage in ONA’s upcoming legislative fight to ensure hospitals remain places of healing.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Please note: Trainings will not be recorded or posted online. All attendees must register in advance. Anyone represented by ONA may attend,&#8221; the email added.</p>
<p>A registered nurse who received the email and attended one of the training sessions told The Daily Wire they found it odd that the sessions would not be posted publicly. &#8220;My question is WHY? Are they afraid that what they are &#8216;training&#8217; is possibly against the law?&#8221; the nurse posed.</p>
<p>The RN said the training session, in part, talked about legislation restricting ICE near hospitals, churches, and community centers.</p>

<div>&#8220;They tried to remain vague when talking about how to directly address ICE in facilities,&#8221; the source told The Daily Wire, &#8220;And I did appreciate that their lawyers who spoke said that you &#8216;can’t physically obstruct ICE.'&#8221;</div>
<p data-start="122" data-end="601">Recently, an ICU nurse named Alex Pretti was killed during a scuffle with Border Patrol agents. Pretti was armed—though it remains unclear whether he ever brandished his weapon—and inserted himself into an encounter as agents were dealing with an agitator during an operation. Video from weeks before the incident shows Pretti <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alex-pretti-attacked-immigration-enforcement-days-before-fatal-shooting-video-shows">spitting</a> at federal immigration officers and kicking out a vehicle’s taillight. The circumstances surrounding Pretti’s death remain under investigation.</p>
<p data-start="606" data-end="848">Separately, as reported by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virginia-nurse-urges-medical-professionals-to-inject-ice-agents-with-paralyzing-drug?author=Jennie+Taer&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Virginia+Nurse+Urges+Medical+Professionals+To+Inject+ICE+Agents+With+Paralyzing+Drug">The Daily Wire</a>, a Virginia hospital fired a nurse after she encouraged other medical professionals to inject ICE officers with succinylcholine—a drug that temporarily paralyzes muscles—in order to “sabotage” them.</p>
<p data-start="853" data-end="1120">The nurse, who used the TikTok handle Redheadredemption, urged doctors and nurses to “grab some syringes with needles on the end” and “have them full of saline or succinylcholine, you know, whatever. Whatever.” She added, “That will probably be a deterrent. Be safe.”</p>

<p dir="auto">The Daily Wire reached out to ONA about the training sessions and asked why they are explicitly being kept from the public.</p>
<p dir="auto">An email from ONA Director of Communications Peter Starzynski defended the training sessions, accusing &#8220;unaccountable immigration enforcement&#8221; of &#8220;increasingly overstepping its authority and treading on the rights of local communities in Oregon—including patients, hospitals, and healthcare providers.&#8221;</p>
<p dir="auto">&#8220;This places nurses in an extraordinarily difficult position of providing care to patients in a manner that is consistent with their professional obligations,&#8221; Starzynski said.</p>
<p dir="auto">The communications director said the training sessions focus on the following:</p>

<p>ONA also posted to its Facebook page on January 25 about its participation in a vigil for Pretti.</p>
<p>&#8220;We must not standby [sic]. We must stand up against injustice and human rights violations. That is exactly what Alex Pretti was doing,&#8221; the post said. &#8220;He deserves justice. We honor his legacy and call on all major healthcare systems in Oregon to stand up for nurses, publicly denounce this killing and hold ICE and similar federal agencies accountable.&#8221;</p>

<p>In a lengthy statement on Pretti, ONA said, &#8220;A nurse&#8217;s job is to care for their patients — but they are also ethically bound to speak out in the face of injustice and human rights violations. Provision 8.2 of the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses is clear: &#8216;Where there are human rights violations, nurses ought to and must stand up for those rights and demand accountability.&#8217; That is exactly what Alex was doing.&#8221;</p>
<p>Starzynski also told The Daily Wire that &#8220;hospitals can only function when everyone who enters follows the same rules&#8221; and &#8220;no federal agency should be above protocols designed to protect patients, healthcare workers, and the integrity of medical care.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Taxpayer dollars should not be used to undermine public health, violate basic rights, or erode trust in institutions meant to keep our communities safe,&#8221; he said. &#8220;For months, ONA has urged hospitals to support frontline caregivers by complying with state and federal patient protections. Throughout it all, ONA members have remained steadfast in their commitment to ensuring our hospitals are places of care, dignity, and healing for everyone.&#8221;</p>

Major Nurses Union Holds Secretive Training Sessions To ‘Fight Against ICE’

<p>Businesses across the country are shutting down, and multiple school districts have canceled classes for an anti-ICE protest scheduled for Friday.</p>
<p>The strike calls for businesses to close, for parents to keep their kids home from school, to refrain from shopping, and to go out and protest federal immigration enforcement. The strike aims to remove federal law enforcement officers from cities nationwide.</p>
<p>&#8220;Every day, ICE, Border Patrol and other enforcers of Trump’s racist agenda are going into our communities to kidnap our neighbors and sow fear,&#8221; <a href="https://nationalshutdown.org/">the site</a> for the protest reads. &#8220;It is time for us to all stand up together in a nationwide shutdown and say enough is enough!&#8221;</p>
<p>Thousands of local businesses in blue states — including Minnesota, New York, California, and Maine — have posted to their social media accounts to signal their intent to close down to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).</p>
<p>Additionally, at least two school districts, both in the Denver area, <a href="https://www.chalkbeat.org/colorado/2026/01/30/colorado-districts-cancel-school-due-to-nationwide-shutdown-ice-protests/#:~:text=Two%20Denver%20metro%20area%20school,Trump%20administration's%20immigration%20enforcement%20actions.">canceled</a> school for Friday over the strike. The districts were reportedly overwhelmed with teachers calling off work to participate in the anti-ICE demonstration.</p>
<p>In Minnesota, the epicenter of the anti-ICE rioting and protesting, some 800 businesses are expected to shut their doors Friday.</p>
<p>Major retailers have so far not joined in on the strike, though mid-level companies, such as online publisher <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/medium-employees-join-nationwide-ice-strike-2026-1">Medium</a>, have. The company said employees can take the day off to protest and would be publishing content related to the strike.</p>
<p>Land to Sea, a coffee shop in Brooklyn, NY, said they were participating in the strike because they believe in &#8220;safe communities and a greater collective consciousness that protects our people.&#8221;</p>
<p>One photo posted by the shop said ICE was &#8220;wag[ing] terror in our country and abroad, kidnapping and killing our family, friends, neighbors.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We will be closing all day on Friday, January 30th in solidarity with the National Strike,&#8221; the business said on Instagram. &#8220;Land to Sea believes in safe communities and a greater collective consciousness that protects our people. We strive to be a place that feels like home, especially when the world feels scary and violent to be in. This Friday, January 30th, we invite you to participate in the National Strike to send a message that ICE must be abolished. We will continue to share resources to learn, organize, and protect one another on our stories.&#8221;</p>

<p>In Rochester, NY, local shops are shutting down too. Pizza Wizard, a local pizza joint, for example, posted about the strike online.</p>
<p>&#8220;Been having some long, hard and ugly conversations,&#8221; the caption reads. &#8220;We are not ok with what is happening in Minnesota, locally and across the country. In participating with the national shutdown, Pizza Wizard will be closed this Friday.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;As to what this will accomplish? Not sure &#8230; maybe it&#8217;s a pebble that creates a ripple,&#8221; the post adds. &#8220;If ur big mad I&#8217;m sorry, leave a comment below. No judgement if ur keep ur business open. This sh*t aint easy.&#8221;</p>

‘No School. No Work’: Businesses And Schools Shut Down For Nationwide Anti-ICE Strike

<p>Hundreds of measles cases have been confirmed in South Carolina, surpassing the number of infections from an outbreak in West Texas this past summer.</p>
<p class="paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate" data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">As of Tuesday, 789 cases were reported in South Carolina. So far, 18 people, including children, have been hospitalized for complications from the disease. No deaths have been reported.</p>
<p class="paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate" data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">At the height of the Texas outbreak, 762 cases were reported. That outbreak, which was tied to two deaths of school-aged children, was declared <a href="https://www.dshs.texas.gov/news-alerts/texas-announces-end-west-texas-measles-outbreak?utm_source=chatgpt.com">over</a> back in August.</p>
<p data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/27/health/largest-us-measles-outbreak-south-carolina">supporting</a> South Carolina&#8217;s response to the outbreak by providing $1.4 million in requested aid. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is also working closely and regularly with state health officials.</p>
<p data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">The vast majority of those infected in South Carolina — an estimated 88% — are unvaccinated against measles. In Texas, too, the vast majority of those infected were unvaccinated or had no documented measles vaccination: more than 94%.</p>
<p data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">The surge in cases in numerous states has sparked outcry from some advocacy groups, who are blaming HHS and its leader, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy.</p>
<p data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">Protect Our Care, for example, projected “MEASLES HQ&#8221; on the D.C. HHS building on Tuesday, <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/5698149-protect-our-care-protests-kennedy/">according</a> to The Hill. Another message said, &#8220;RFK JR: MAKING AMERICA SICK AGAIN.&#8221;</p>
<p data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmkwxk87q00043b6s5tm6zaeg@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true">Notably, however, the CDC still recommends children receive the measles vaccine as part of the routine childhood immunization schedule. The immunization comes in the form of the MMR shot, which protects against measles, mumps, and rubella.</p>
<p>“Under Secretary Kennedy, CDC surged resources, and multiple states declared measles outbreaks over in 2025,&#8221; HHS Press Secretary Emily Hilliard <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/5698149-protect-our-care-protests-kennedy/">said</a> in a statement. &#8220;Vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent measles, and the Secretary has been clear and consistent on this point. All vaccines on the CDC schedule, including MMR, remain covered by insurance, so families do not need to pay out of pocket to get vaccinated.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Additionally, the U.S. continues to fare better than Canada, Mexico, and Europe in overall measles burden,&#8221; she added. &#8220;This is an international problem.&#8221;</p>
<p>The decline in overall vaccination rates predates the Trump administration, and that&#8217;s due to the botched job of public health officials during the COVID pandemic, Hilliard argued.</p>
<p>“Declines in measles vaccination rates and erosion of public trust began well before this Administration,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Public confidence in health institutions was significantly undermined during the COVID era, particularly in states that imposed prolonged mandates and delivered inconsistent messaging. Those effects continue to be felt today.”</p>

Health And Human Services Responds As Hundreds Of Measles Cases Confirmed In South Carolina

<p>With America&#8217;s power grid stressed by a historic winter storm, expensive &#8220;green&#8221; energy sources like wind and solar proved unreliable.</p>
<p>A new report on power use over the days of Winter Storm Fern, which brought both massive snow accumulation and damaging waves of ice, found that traditional power sources like natural gas, coal, and nuclear provided 80% of U.S. electricity during the storm&#8217;s most destructive days. Wind, by contrast, contributed single-digit percentages, and solar was largely unattainable during the coldest and darkest hours.</p>
<p>Data from some 500,000 federal electricity records, analyzed by nonprofit <a href="https://www.powerthefuture.com/wp-content/uploads/FROZEN-BY-FERN.pdf">Power the Future</a>, show the states that most heavily rely on renewable energy faced the greatest vulnerabilities and the highest prices during Storm Fern.</p>
<p>&#8220;Electricity must be affordable. It must be reliable. And before we talk about all-of-the-above, it, above all, must be there when people need it,&#8221; the report states. &#8220;Winter Storm Fern made clear that energy policy rooted in reality beats climate ideology every time.&#8221;</p>
<p>The analysis concerning Storm Fern comes on the heels of President Donald Trump criticizing wind energy during a speech at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos. Additionally, last month, the administration paused leases for five large offshore wind projects on the East Coast.</p>
<p>Notably, perpetually proven-wrong climate alarmist Al Gore called Trump “insane” for canceling the wind projects.</p>
<p>Power the Future&#8217;s analysis was confirmed by others, which similarly found use of renewables dwindling towards zero during the coldest days.</p>

<p>Many far-left politicians have stated goals of moving to full reliance on renewables, which would likely mean power would be nonexistent when it&#8217;s needed most.</p>
<p>Conservative commentator Gabriella Hoffman <a href="https://x.com/Gabby_Hoffman/status/2015807690421817731">put it bluntly</a>: &#8220;Winter Storm Fern reminds us that net-zero is unsustainable.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;An energy system must be undergirded by reliable, abundant, dispatchable power &#8211; not weather-dependent wind, solar, batteries that are costly AND ultimately fail to deliver substantial emissions reductions,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>To boot, Americans are spending more money on these &#8220;green&#8221; power sources. For example, in states like California, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey — where fossil fuels have been replaced the fastest — energy prices have risen significantly.</p>
<p>Power the Future released the following <a href="https://www.powerthefuture.com/report-the-looming-american-electricity-affordability-crisis/">datapoints</a> in August:</p>
<ul>
<li><em>California – Fossil generation down 57 million MWh/year since 2010; prices up 8.3¢/kWh. </em></li>
<li><em>Massachusetts – Fossil generation down 74%; prices up 6.4¢/kWh. </em></li>
<li><em>New York – Closure of Indian Point nuclear plant drove downstate prices higher and increased reliance on imports. </em></li>
<li><em>New Jersey – Eagle Point refinery mothballed despite rising demand.</em></li>
</ul>
<p>In New York, for example, residents pay roughly 50-60% more than the national average. This is connected to a state climate law that mandates 70% of electricity come from renewable sources by 2030 and 100% carbon-free by 2040.</p>
<p>Power the Future, though, says that these comments by Trump, and actions from the administration, were proven right during Storm Fern.</p>
