Conservative icon Charlie Kirk, before his assassination on Wednesday, talked about assassination culture rising on the Left, and needing full-time security.
In a resurfaced video, which was posted by HumanEvents, Kirk says opponents will &#8220;take weapons&#8221; to try to &#8220;murder&#8221; conservative ideas, since they cannot effectively debate and defend their own ideas.
“At the core of the Left, at the core of a liberal, is someone that would use the sword if they had it,&#8221; Kirk says in the video. &#8220;They are very violent people at their core, they always have been. They can’t debate, they can’t have conversations, so they resort to these tactics.&#8221;
“They are going to do everything they possibly can to try to murder this movement because they can’t beat us, so they’re going to try to take weapons. And know we’re very aware of that, I am very aware of it &#8212; we have to have full time security,&#8221; he added. &#8220;This is not a joke and this is who these people are.&#8221;

Additionally, just months before his murder, Kirk took note of the Left&#8217;s increasing support for political violence.
&#8220;Assassination culture is spreading on the left,&#8221; he posted to X, back in April. &#8220;Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione.&#8221;
&#8220;The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy,&#8221; Kirk continued. &#8220;Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response.&#8221;
&#8220;This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.&#8221;

Kirk was tragically shot dead during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, when he was openly debating differing viewpoints.
President Donald Trump called the late conservative a “legendary” figure.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Kirk, unsurprisingly, pointed to his faith in Jesus Christ.
&#8220;How do you wanna be remembered? &#8230; [If] everything just goes away [and] you could be associated with one thing, how would you want to be remembered?&#8221; Kirk was asked.
&#8220;I want to be remembered for courage for my faith,&#8221; Kirk responded. &#8220;That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith in my life.&#8221;

Charlie Kirk Was Asked How He Wanted To Be Remembered. He Pointed To His Faith.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Tuesday evening that it&#8217;s cracking down on deceptive pharmaceutical ads, issuing thousands of warning letters and about 100 cease-and-desist notifications.
“For far too long, the FDA has permitted misleading drug advertisements, distorting the doctor-patient relationship and creating increased demand for medications regardless of clinical appropriateness,” FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said in a statement. “Drug companies spend up to 25% of their budget on advertising. Those billions of dollars would be better spent on lowering drug prices for everyday Americans.”
A press release from the agency said current law requires pharma ads to &#8220;present a fair balance between a product’s risks and benefits; avoid exaggerating benefits; not create a misleading overall impression; properly disclose financial relationships; and include information regarding major side effects and contraindications.&#8221;
That rule, which the FDA did not adequately enforce during the Biden years, will be &#8220;aggressively&#8221; enforced now, the release says. Additionally, the FDA is closing the “adequate provision” loophole created in 1997, which companies have used to &#8220;conceal critical safety risks in broadcast and digital ads, fueling inappropriate drug use and eroding public trust.&#8221;
Television ads are not the only promotional content being scrutinized and regulated. Social media posts, which often feature an influencer talking up the drug, rarely mention &#8220;potential harms,&#8221; or they fail to disclose that the influencers are being paid.
&#8220;[W]hile 100% of pharmaceutical social media posts highlight drug benefits, only 33% mention potential harms,&#8221; the FDA said, citing a 2024 review in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research. &#8220;Moreover, 88% of advertisements for top-selling drugs are posted by individuals and organizations that fail to adhere to the FDA fair balance guidelines.&#8221;
In the thousands of letters sent to drug companies, the FDA warns, &#8220;You are hereby directed to remove any noncompliant advertising and bring all promotional communications into compliance.&#8221;
&#8220;This notice also serves to demand compliance with the [Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic] Act and FDA implementing regulations and requires companies to remove any and all DTC (direct-to-consumer) prescription drug advertising that violates the law,&#8221; the letter adds.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. &#8212; the head of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees the FDA &#8212; has long been a critic of Big Pharma ads. He said in a statement issued Tuesday that &#8220;pharmaceutical ads hooked this country on prescription drugs.&#8221;
&#8220;We will shut down that pipeline of deception and require drug companies to disclose all critical safety facts in their advertising,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Only radical transparency will break the cycle of overmedicalization that drives America’s chronic disease epidemic.”
While Kennedy was running for president in 2024, before he endorsed President Donald Trump, he said he would &#8220;issue an executive order banning pharmaceutical advertising on television.&#8221;
&#8220;We are one of only two countries in the world that allow pharmaceutical companies to advertise directly to consumers on television,&#8221; RFK Jr. said on X in 2024. &#8220;Not surprisingly, Americans consume more pharmaceutical products than anyone else on the planet.&#8221;

Trump FDA Announces Major Crackdown On ‘Misleading’ Pharma Ads

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismantled a narrative that President Donald Trump is targeting blue states in his quest to get crime under control nationwide.
When a reporter asked Leavitt if Trump will work with GOP-led states to tackle crime, the press secretary said the premise of the question reflects a false mainstream narrative.
&#8220;Yes, there is crime in red states. Of course, there is crime in all states, but the crime in these cities is all in cities that are run by Democrats. If you look at the list of the top 20 high-crime cities in the United States, every single one, with the exception of one in Louisiana, is run by a Democrat.&#8221;
These Democrat leaders, Leavitt continued, have supported soft-on-crime policies, including cashless bail, which is when suspects do not have to pay any bail to be released from jail while awaiting trial.
Highlighting Jackson, Mississippi &#8212; a blue city in a red state, Leavitt noted the city &#8220;eliminated cash bail for virtually all misdemeanor cases.&#8221; The city also acts like a de facto sanctuary jurisdiction.
Similarly, Birmingham, Alabama, passed a resolution &#8220;committing to establish sanctuary policies,&#8221; the press secretary added.
&#8220;If you actually look at the facts, there are cities that are run by Democrats &#8230; and they have all supported these disastrous policies, which allow repeated career criminals back onto the streets to further commit acts of violence.&#8221;
Trump, Leavitt said, wants to work with &#8220;anyone across this country who wants to end these horrible policies and bring law and order to our streets.&#8221;

Indeed, the vast majority of high crime and violent crime cities across the nation are run by Democrats, and more specifically, adopt soft-on-crime policies, like cashless bail and other so-called justice reforms that routinely hurt victims.
For example, the top-five most violent cities in the U.S., based on the violent crime rate per 100,000 residents, are Memphis, Detroit, Baltimore, Houston, and Nashville. They are all run by Democrats.
President Donald Trump has already worked with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, to quickly clean up our nation&#8217;s capital. He&#8217;s also said he plans on deploying National Guardsmen to other violent cities, including Chicago.

Leavitt Torches Media Crime Narrative: All These Cities Run By Democrats

The Wall Street Journal on Monday published an image of what they claim is a crass birthday letter President Donald Trump gave to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein &#8212; sparking swift pushback from Trump administration officials, including White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The text of the letter, allegedly from 2003, is laid over a drawing of a naked woman&#8217;s torso and is supposedly signed by President Trump, the report suggests. The image was provided to Congress by the Epstein estate in response to a subpoena.

Leavitt rejected the report as &#8220;fake news,&#8221; and noted Trump&#8217;s lawsuit against the paper for its initial July report on the alleged birthday letter.
&#8220;The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire &#8216;Birthday Card&#8217; story is false,&#8221; the press secretary posted to X. &#8220;As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation.&#8221;
Leavitt further commented on the apparent journalistic practices of the Journal before publishing the report. &#8220;The &#8216;reporter&#8217; [Joe Palazzolo], who wrote this hatchet job, reached out for comment at the EXACT same minute he published his story giving us no time to respond.&#8221;

Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich said the signature on the card doesn&#8217;t match the president&#8217;s signature, and suggested media company News Corp was going to have to shell out big for &#8220;defamation.&#8221;

The Journal, back in July, reported on the contents of the letter. Trump quickly called the report phony and moved to take legal action against the paper.
A day after the report was published, the president filed a federal libel lawsuit against Dow Jones, News Corp, Rupert Murdoch, and two Wall Street Journal reporters. He&#8217;s suing for libel, assault, and slander.

“The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued,” Trump said in a Truth Social post at the time.
Trump said that Murdoch, owner of News Corp, “stated that he would take care of it.”
“But, obviously, did not have the power to do so,” Trump added.

We will not have a normal show today. I want to talk to you about what has happened over the past 24 hours. I have a lot to say, and I also don't know what to say, at the same time. I’m devastated. Heartbroken. And very, very angry. I’ll try to talk through some of that today, because I just want to talk about Charlie, who he was, the legacy he leaves behind, and where we go from here.

America Will Never Be The Same After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination 

Yesterday, we lost the voice of an entire generation, and I lost my closest mentor and a truly wonderful friend.

Charlie Kirk wasn’t just a political leader. He was a husband, father, mentor, and true friend who embodied the biblical principles of Salt and Light in every part of his life.  He was like salt as a preserver and enhancer of culture, and like light as a sharer of the illumination of God’s truth to people everywhere. From the stage to the green room, from political tabling debates to late-night Cubs games, Charlie’s legacy is one of steadfast goodness, graciousness, courage, faith, and fearlessness.

I don’t know what comes next, truthfully, but I do know that we need to share this heartbreak together. When everything feels hopeless, we can remain grounded in the hope of eternal life–where today, Charlie is more alive than we are.

Today, we remember Charlie’s extraordinary mission. His unshakable dedication to God, his family, his friends, and an entire generation that he inspired to speak the truth no matter the cost. The mission doesn’t end here. It’s time for all of us to pick up the torch and carry it forward.
