<p>The majority of Americans say that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the illegal alien infamously defended by Democrats as a “Maryland man,” is likely a member of the MS-13 criminal organization, a new poll says.</p>
<p>A whopping 62 percent of Americans believe that the illegal alien, who was deported to El Salvador earlier this year, is likely a member of the Salvadoran gang, a recent Harvard-Harris <a href="https://harvardharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/HHP_June2025_KeyResults.pdf">poll</a> found. Just 38 percent of respondents to the poll said that Garcia should have been defended from deportation and 43 percent of Democrats said that he is likely part of the criminal gang.</p>
<p>Garcia’s case became a lightning rod for Democrats in Congress, who claimed that the illegal alien was a “Maryland man” who was mistakenly deported back to his home country of El Salvador.</p>
<p>Multiple courts previously found that Abrego Garcia has connections to MS-13, which the Trump administration designated as a foreign terror organization shortly after taking office.</p>
<p>The survey’s findings were released just after Garcia was brought back into the United States from El Salvador to face trial for human smuggling charges, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/heres-why-the-trump-admin-says-it-would-be-dangerous-to-release-kilmar-abrego-garcia?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Here%E2%80%99s+Why+The+Trump+Admin+Says+It+Would+Be+Dangerous+To+Release+Kilmar+Abrego+Garcia">appearing in court</a> in connection to the case for the first time in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday. The illegal alien was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/police-suspected-maryland-man-of-getting-paid-to-traffic-illegals-body-cam-footage-shows?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=16&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Police+Suspected+%E2%80%98Maryland+Man%E2%80%99+Of+%E2%80%98Getting+Paid%E2%80%99+To+Traffic+Illegals%2C+Body+Cam+Footage+Shows">pulled over</a> by the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 2022 while transporting several men who said they did not have drivers licenses and couldn’t speak English.</p>
<p>“He’s getting paid to haul these people, probably to Maryland, I would say,” one Tennessee Highway Patrol officer can be heard saying of Garcia in the body camera footage. “Sometimes they come in with dope.” Another officer can be heard stating that Garcia’s vehicle appeared to have an extra row of seats installed, another indication that he could be engaged in human smuggling.</p>
<p>Democrat politicians rallied around Garcia in the wake of his deportation to El Salvador’s prison for terrorists and gang members. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senator-van-hollen-did-not-ask-deported-illegal-immigrant-ms-13">Sen. Chris Van Hollen</a> (D-MD) and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-congressman-spends-memorial-day-trying-to-visit-deported-illegal-alien-with-ms-13-ties?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=13&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Dem+Congressman+Spends+Memorial+Day+Trying+To+Visit+Deported+Illegal+Alien+With+MS-13+Ties">Rep. Glenn Ivey</a> (D-MD) both flew to El Salvador to visit the illegal alien, with the representative erroneously referring to the Salvadoran national as his constituent.</p>
<p>Three other congressmen — Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Robert Garcia (D-CA), and Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) — flew to El Salvador, but were <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/5259931-house-democrats-denied-meeting-abrego-garcia-demand-daily-proof-of-life/">denied a meeting</a> with Abrego Garcia.</p>
