Former Miss United Continents Brazil 2018, Gleycy Correia, has reportedly died at age 27.

Correia’s family priest, Lidiane Alves Oliviera, told the Daily Mail that Miss Brazil died at a private clinic on Monday after suffering from a heart attack and heavy bleeding following what was called a routine operation to have her tonsils removed back in March.

“She had surgery to remove her tonsils and after five days at home, she had a hemorrhage,” Oliviera told the outlet

The priest explained that Correia was left in a coma for two months after suffering cardiac arrest on April 4.

“She went to Unimed and had a cardiac arrest on 4th April and since then she was in a coma, with no neurological activity,” Oliviera shared. “Today she passed away.”

A message posted on the beauty pageant winner’s Instagram dated June 21, translated from Spanish read that, “I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith. (2 Timothy),” E! News noted.

Correia’s family had taken over her social media account since she suffered cardiac arrest and had shared numerous videos and prayer circles with the beauty pageant’s fans hoping she would pull through, Fox News noted.

Pastor Jak Abreu, who knows the beauty queen’s family, shared on social media that the family alleges there was medical malpractice involved.

“God chose this day to collect our princess,” Pastor Abreu shared. “We know that she will be greatly missed, but she will now be brightening the sky with her smile..”

“To everyone who prayed, thank you very much,” the pastor added. “May the Lord reward every prayer of love and all these days together. She fulfilled her purpose and left her legacy of love in us. We ask for your prayers for the family and friends that the Holy Spirit may bring comfort in this difficult time.”

The late-beauty pageant star was no stranger to the pageant world and had been participating in them since she was a teenager.  At the age of 23, she won Miss United Continents Brazil 2018.

“Gleycy will always be remembered for her enlightened beauty, joy and empathy shown in her work,” a message from the the Official Miss Brazil read.

An autopsy is still pending to determine the exact cause of death.
