Michelle Fields, the former reporter for Breitbart whose battery charge against Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was spurred by the Trump campaign’s refusal to apologize for Lewandowksi’s actions and their attempted smearing of her reputation, has been receiving multiple death threats, according to The Blaze.
On Friday, Fields reported the threats to authorities; one of which was displayed in a frightening phone call she received that she also recorded. The man on the other end of the line informed Fields that if she didn’t drop her charge against Lewandoski, who was arrested and charged last week, the man would “slit her throat.”
Fields’ home address and phone number were made public by Buzzfeed and Fox News, which published a copy of the Lewandowski arrest report and did not redact Fields’ personal information.
The exchange with the caller went like this:
Caller: If I find you Michelle, I’m going to kill you
Fields: Okay …
Caller: I know where you live.
Fields: Okay …
Caller: You have got 36 hours to drop the charges. I’m dead serious.
Fields: Or what? What are you going to do?
Caller: I’m going to slit your throat.
Fields: OK, you have serious issue. Anything else? Are you just going to keep calling me and saying this?
The man hung up. The audio is below:
A caller who seemed to be the same man reportedly phoned Fields’ brother and threatened him.
Fields has received death threats over Instagram, including examples like these: “I’m going to stab this knife in your heart, just wait. I know where you live.” “You are dead, bitch. I have someone watching your every move. See you at the morgue.”
The responding officer on Fields’ report, Jake Coletti, wrote, “On April 1st 2016 at approximately 0100 hours the undersigned responded to the listed location for a felony threats report. Upon arrival, C-1 reports that at approximately 0045 hours, S-1 commented on C-1′s Instragam several times threatening to kill C-1. S-1 also called C-1 and threatened her again.”
Fields moved out of her apartment last week after the threats became too much.
