Melania Trump’s plans as first lady the second time around will reportedly look different than when she and President Donald Trump occupied the White House during his first term, a source said.

Speaking to People magazine, an exclusive source told the outlet that Melania has “her own ideas on what she wants to do” during Trump’s 47th presidency and that her stepping away from the spotlight the last few weeks “should not come as a surprise because this is how she lives.”

“She will never be a traditional first lady,” the source told the outlet. “That isn’t who she is.”

The insider also said the first lady “has been involved with moving ahead on her own projects, and recently she has been in the White House for that.”

Another source said, “Melania has been busy shooting her documentary and that has taken place in several locations, including the White House.”

Variety previously reported that Melania was working on a documentary for Amazon Prime Video that she is executive producing with Fernando Sulichin. The documentary will be directed by Brett Ratner.

Another insider told the outlet that Melania and Trump “both live at Mar-a-Lago and have quarters in the White House. But she leads her own life and joins him when appropriate in either place.”

In January, the first lady spoke to Fox News about her plans to “expand” her initiative “Be Best” during Trump’s second term after noting the little support her initiative got the first time around.

“Imagine what we could do in those years if they will rally behind me and teach the children and protect them about social media and their mental health,” Melania said. “It will be an exciting four years. We have a lot to do.”

At one point in the same interview, the first lady said she’s more prepared to move and live in the White House than the last time in 2017, following Trump’s election victory.

“The difference is I know where I will be going. I know the rooms, where we will be living, I know the process,” Melania said. “The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information. But this time I have everything … So it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”

The first lady also talked about how she didn’t “feel that people” accepted, understood, or supported her during President Trump’s first term. She said she’s looking forward to her second time in the White House, and those things being different.
