First lady Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden for $1 billion over claims the Biden scion made about Trump regarding the late, disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Attorneys for Trump sent a letter demanding Biden retract statements he made about the first lady regarding Epstein in an interview on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan and published on YouTube earlier this month. The letter accused Biden of causing “overwhelming financial and reputational harm” to the first lady.
“This correspondence serves as a demand … that you immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump,” the letter says. The interview “has since been re-published by various media outlets, journalists, and political commentators with millions of social media followers that have disseminated the false and defamatory statements therein to tens of millions of people worldwide. Consequently, you have caused Mrs. Trump to suffer overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”
The letter, sent by Alejandro Brito, Trump’s litigation counsel, quotes two comments from Biden in the video in which he claims that Epstein first introduced Trump to President Donald Trump. In the video, Biden cites an article published on The Daily Beast written by “serial fabulist” Michael Wolff.
“Following receipt of our cease-and-desist demand letter just a week ago, The Daily Beast issued an apology to Mrs. Trump and retracted the false and defamatory statements contained in the Article by deleting it in its entirety,” Brito wrote. “Despite this, you have unjustifiably relied upon Mr. Wolff&#8217;s false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements about Mrs. Trump and maliciously elected to republish them.”

Biden must issue a public retraction of his comments and an apology to Trump, according to the letter. The message also tells Biden to save all evidence and communications related to the claims and the interview.
If the letter’s demands are not met, “Mrs. Trump will be left with no alternative but to enforce her legal and equitable rights, all of which are expressly reserved and are not waived, including by filing legal action for over $1 Billion Dollars in damages. You are on notice,” the letter says.
Biden appeared on the YouTube news show Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan twice in videos published on July 21 and August 5. The July <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBbkt2vYC4M&amp;t=4278s">interview</a> ran for roughly three hours and has racked up over 3.6 million views. The <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4WCtYDtgbM">video</a> released in August is shorter, running just over one hour, and has amassed nearly 1.2 million views. The offending comments appeared in the August video.

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is taking time off from his podcasts and public appearances to recover from a genetic “immune system dysfunction” that flared up recently.
Peterson’s daughter, Mikhaila, gave an update on Peterson’s heath in an X post on Wednesday. Mikhaila revealed that her father had recently been diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, or CIRS, although he has suffered from it much longer.
CIRS “causes the immune system to have an inability to identify and detoxify mold/bacteria in indoor air (the genetic predisposition is not that rare, it’s in about 25% of people but he has a severe version),” Mikhaila explained.
“Over the last year or so he’s been feeling the impact of CIRS more and more. Recently he was exposed to a particularly moldy environment while helping clean out my grandfather’s house after he passed away which severely flared symptoms,” she said.

Peterson’s flareup with CIRS has been behind a slate of canceled appearances and his recent “run-down” look and “general weepiness” from pain. The popular psychologist is undergoing treatment for the disorder, and while he is responding well, recovery has been “pretty rough,” Mikhaila said.
On Peterson’s behalf, Mikhaila apologized to people who bought tickets to Peterson’s event in Brazil that he had to cancel and to fans in Europe for having to move the date of his European tour.
While he is in recovery, new episodes of Peterson’s latest series with The Daily Wire, &#8220;Answer the Call,&#8221; will be available on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@JordanBPeterson">YouTube</a>.
Peterson has suffered with CIRS badly since 2017, though doctors for years could not accurately diagnose his chronic health problems.
“The fact that doctors don’t generally recognize that mold exposure in indoor air is causing chronic health issues is insane. The fact that this is the cause behind our food sensitivities and inability to tolerate anything other than meat (for 8 years now), multiple disorders and diseases in my family, and is virtually unrecognized by the medical community, is absurd,” Mikhaila said.
“This indoor air quality problem that causes Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome will be commonly diagnosed in the next 5-10 years. I am positive about that,” she added.

Jordan Peterson Taking Time Off To Recover From ‘Immune System Dysfunction’

Less than a year into his second term, President Donald Trump’s work on the international stage has earned him commendations for the Nobel Peace Prize from multiple world leaders.
The president has this year received formal nominations for the award from two foreign leaders, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and a foreign government, Pakistan. Last week, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan pledged at a peace summit at the White House to write a joint recommendation letter for Trump.
The Nobel Peace Prize is scheduled to be announced on October 10. The president has <a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/1953919418188317141">denied</a> “politicking” for the award and cast doubt on his viability to win it as he is “of a certain persuasion.”
Regardless, the president has built up a resume to compete and has endorsements from world leaders backing his nomination.
The Abraham Accords
Carrying through on work he began in his first term, Trump has moved forward with the Abraham Accords to normalize relations between Israel and its surrounding Arab neighbors. 
Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates signed bilateral agreements with the Jewish state in 2020. Discussions have begun with Syria to enter the accords after the fall of the Assad regime, while the Trump administration is still making efforts to bring Saudi Arabia into the partnership.
The accords have reshaped dynamics in the Middle East, threatening to isolate Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, from its Arab neighbors. Hamas, an Iranian-backed terror group in Gaza, attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, which <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/hamas-wanted-to-torpedo-israel-saudi-deal-with-oct-7-attacks-documents-reveal-a70ec560">forced</a> Saudi Arabia to pause efforts to join the Abraham Accords.
Dismantling Iran’s Nuclear Program
The progress on the Abraham Accords is separate from the Trump administration and Israel’s joint destruction of Iran’s nuclear program. Following years of attacks from Iranian proxies and direct attacks from Iran itself, Israel struck back at Iran and launched the 12-Day War on June 13.
Over the course of nearly two weeks, Israel waged an almost entirely one-sided war against Iran that devastated the terror state’s military and nuclear program. The United States capped the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program on June 21, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/b-2-bombers-arrive-back-in-missouri-after-hammering-iranian-nuclear-sites">bombing</a> three key sites at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The Pentagon has <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2025/07/03/were-probably-thinking-closer-to-2-years-pentagon-provides-more-details-on-damage-assessment-of-u-s-strikes-against-iranian-nuclear-sites/">estimated</a> that the strikes by the United States and Israel have set Iran’s nuclear program back years.

Trump has helped broker five peace agreements or ceasefires since taking office in January, in addition to two other conflicts in which he intervened during the final year of his first term.
Last week, Trump hosted the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the White House. Azerbaijan President Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan signed a peace deal, and both leaders expressed optimism in ending 35 years of hostilities.

“Now they’re friends, and they’re going to be friends for a long time,” said Trump.
In the past three months, the White House has claimed victory in de-escalating tensions between Thailand and Cambodia and between India and Pakistan. Trump was also instrumental in brokering ceasefires between Rwanda-backed militants and Congo, as well as between Israel and Iran.
In 2020, the first Trump administration intervened between Serbia and Kosovo, which declared independence from Serbia in 2008 but has yet to be recognized by Serbia as an independent state. Trump’s intervention led the two parties to <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/04/politics/serbia-kosovo-agreement/index.html">sign</a> an economic normalization agreement in a White House ceremony in September 2020.
That same year, Trump intervened in a dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia over a dam project that had Egyptian leaders concerned about the impact on the Nile River. The Ethiopian project has yet to be resolved, though the White House has said Trump’s continued negotiations with the two sides have staved off open conflict.
Before the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is announced in October, Trump also has a chance to help wrap up two more major conflicts. The president has secured a meeting between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin to take place in Alaska this week on ending the war in Ukraine.
Trump has backed Israel in its war against Hamas while also brokering talks to free hostages from the terror group’s grasp and supporting the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) with U.S. funds to feed Palestinian civilians in Gaza. While the GHF undermines Hamas’ control of Palestinians in Gaza, Israel has made progress on destroying the terror group and ending the conflict.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris “rebuffed” a request from the Vance family to allow their children a tour of the vice president’s residence ahead of the inauguration, according to Vice President JD Vance.
Vance revealed the apparent snub during an appearance on the inaugural episode of the Katie Miller Podcast that aired on Monday. Harris, branded as &#8220;Momala&#8221; during the presidential campaign, reportedly denied the Vance children an early chance to see the house they would live in for the next four years.
“I think that, normally, it&#8217;s customary for the outgoing vice president to show the incoming vice president&#8217;s family the house,” Vance said. “We have three little kids, so I guess at the time our kids were, like, 7, 5, and, you know, 2 – I guess Mirabel turned 3 right before the inauguration.”
“Usha really wanted to show [the children where they would be living], so what we actually proposed is, recognizing the weirdness of the politics, can Usha take the kids over and just show them where they&#8217;re going to be living for the next 4 years, and they were rebuffed,” Vance said.
Instead, Vance and his wife introduced their children to the vice presidential residence through photos.
“A friend of ours in Cincinnati had a book about the vice president&#8217;s residence, and so we would show the kids what it would look like, but that&#8217;s as close as they ever got to it” before the inauguration, Vance said.

Harris snubbed the vice president, as well. Traditionally, the sitting vice president has invited the incoming vice president to the residence ahead of inauguration, though Harris skipped the custom with Vance.
Harris has often brought up her role as “Momala” to her stepchildren, Cole and Ella, gained through her marriage to her husband Doug Emhoff. The nickname was agreed upon one night by Harris and Ella a couple years after Harris and Emhoff were married.
Harris wrote about the experience in a Mother’s Day <a href="https://www.elle.com/culture/career-politics/a27422434/kamala-harris-stepmom-mothers-day/">piece</a> in Elle in 2019. The nickname has been <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/17/us/politics/kamala-harris-stepmom-cole-ella-emhoff.html">referenced</a> repeatedly in news articles and profiles to tout Harris’ family’s support for her career in politics.

Kamala Wouldn’t Let Vance Kids Tour The Veep’s House Before Inauguration, VP Says

E.J. Antoni, chief economist at The Heritage Foundation, received President Donald Trump&#8217;s nod to take over the role former Bureau of Labor Statistics head Erika McEntarfer on Monday.
President Donald Trump named his pick to take over for McEntarfer in a Truth Social <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115012532470689820">post</a>. Antoni, who must be confirmed by the Senate, was nominated to replace McEntarfer after she was fired earlier this month following significant revisions made to jobs data.
“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Highly Respected Economist, Dr. E.J. Antoni, as the next Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Our Economy is booming, and E.J. will ensure that the Numbers released are HONEST and ACCURATE. I know E.J. Antoni will do an incredible job in this new role. Congratulations E.J.!” Trump posted.
Antoni has been a critic of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and said that the process used to gather jobs data is deeply flawed.
“There are better ways to collect, process, and disseminate data—that is the task for the next BLS commissioner, and only consistent delivery of accurate data in a timely manner will rebuild the trust that has been lost over the last several years,” Antonin said in a post on social media last week.

Trump fired McEntarfer on August 1 after the Bureau of Labor Statistics released its most recent report on jobs data showing significant downward revisions for job gains in the months of May and June.
“Revisions for May and June were larger than normal,” the agency <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fewer-jobs-than-expected-added-in-july-as-unemployment-holds-steady">said</a> in an August 1 report. “The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for May was revised down by 125,000, from +144,000 to +19,000, and the change for June was revised  down by 133,000, from +147,000 to +14,000.”
Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-fires-biden-appointed-labor-statistics-boss-after-major-revisions-to-jobs-reports">swung</a> at McEntarfer in a post on social media after the latest revisions, accusing her of manipulating the jobs numbers for “political purposes.”
“This is the same Bureau of Labor Statistics that overstated the Jobs Growth in March 2024 by approximately 818,000 and, then again, right before the 2024 Presidential Election, in August and September, by 112,000,” Trump wrote.
“We need accurate Jobs Numbers. I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified,” he added. “Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can’t be manipulated for political purposes.”

Trump Names His Pick To Take Charge Of Jobs Data: ‘HONEST And ACCURATE’

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker dodged when confronted on his own state’s gerrymandered congressional map, pivoting to blame Texas Republicans of threatening “democracy.”
The Illinois governor appeared on NBC News for an interview that aired on Sunday, and, when asked if his criticism of Texas’ redistricting push is hypocritical, he said that attacks on his own state’s congressional map are distractions.
“What they&#8217;re talking about is a distraction. The reality is that the violation of people&#8217;s voting rights is what Texas is attempting to do. That&#8217;s what&#8217;s wrong with their efforts right now. And the fact that the president of the United States knows it and, nevertheless, is asking them to do it — that is what&#8217;s wrong with what we&#8217;re seeing right now. Democracy is at stake,” said Pritzker.

“Meet The Press” host Kristen Welker pointed to “F” grades that Illinois’ congressional map has received on the “fairness” of its district lines from independent watchdogs.
According to <a href="https://www.commoncause.org/illinois/resources/illinois/">Common Cause</a>, one of the watchdogs Welker referred to, “Illinois represents a nearly perfect model for everything that can go wrong with redistricting.”
“Illinois legislators used the redistricting process this cycle to protect a Democratic supermajority in the legislature and squeeze one additional Democratic congressional district out of the map despite the state’s loss of one U.S. House seat post-census,” the Common Cause report said.
Pritzker has hosted many of the Texas Democrats who fled their state earlier this month to deny a quorum in the Texas legislature and hold up passage of a newly redrawn congressional map. The map is expected to win Republicans five more seats in the U.S. House during midterm elections.
The Democrats’ abandonment of the state has also held up legislation aimed at assisting the victims of catastrophic flooding in central Texas earlier this year.
Texas leaders, including Governor Greg Abbott and state Attorny General Ken Paxton, have promised to scour legal mechanisms of forcing the rogue Democrats back to the state. Otherwise, the Democrat absences could leave the legislature hobbled for weeks or months.
“All I can say is we’re going to use every tool that we can to make sure that these runaway Democrats are going to be held accountable,” Abbott <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abbott-vows-to-use-every-tool-to-round-up-and-arrest-runaway-texas-dems">said</a> on Friday.
“Democrats act like they’re not going to come back as long as this is an issue. That means they’re not going to come back until like 2027 or 2028, because I’m going to call special session after special session after special session with the same agenda items on there,” he added.
