Meghan Markle was spotted Thursday with members of the royal family for the first time in two years during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebration at Buckingham Palace.

In photos that surfaced on social media, the former “Suits” actress and wife of Prince Harry was seen in the background near the balcony where the queen, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children were prominent during the Trooping the Colour annual celebration held in honor of the monarch’s birthday. It was all part of the celebration marking the queen’s 70 years on the throne, People magazine reported.

Markle wore a white wide-brimmed Stephen Jones hat with a large navy blue bow and a navy off-the-shoulder dress as she held up her hand appearing to quiet several royal children. The outlet noted that the Duchess of Sussex was seen talking to Zara Tindall’s kids Mia, 8, and Lena, 3, and Peter Phillips’ daughter Savannah, 11.

In another photo, Markle can be seen from behind standing next to her husband Prince Harry wearing a blue suit after the couple arrived in the United Kingdom Wednesday with their two children, son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, who turns one on Saturday.

The hat Markle was seen wearing reportedly has “sold out of stores” despite making a brief appearance, the Independent UK noted.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not part of the balcony group nor were they part of the carriage procession, but were instead spectators of the event, Elle magazine noted. The queen previously announced that only senior working members of the royal family would join her on the balcony, the outlet noted.

On Friday, Meghan and her husband are expected to make another public appearance at St. Paul’s Cathedral for the National Service of Thanksgiving as part of the continued celebrations in honor of the queen.

In March of 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal roles, and eventually ended up leaving the United Kingdom, moving to Southern California where they raise their two children.
