Megan Fox revealed she suffered a miscarriage in her new poetry book, “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.”
The 37-year-old actress spoke on Tuesday to “Good Morning America” about her publication with 70 poems in which she talked about her “real life experiences,” including losing a child while she’s been dating the rapper Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker).
“I’ve never been through anything like that before in my life,” Fox told the host. “I have three kids. So it was very difficult for both of us, and it sent us on a very wild journey together. And separately and together and apart and together and apart … trying to navigate what does this mean and why did this happen.”
Fox said none of what she shared in the book is “fictional” and explained why she decided to write it.
“It’s not an exposé that I wrote or a memoir … But throughout my life, I have been in at least one physically abusive relationship and several psychologically very abusive relationships.”

“I just think it was something inside of me that had to come out,” the “Jennifer’s Body” star said. “Because it was gonna make me sick.”
One poem details a physically abusive relationship she went through without naming the person she was with at the time.
“I’ve only been publicly connected to a few people that I shared energy with, I guess we could say, who were her horrific people and also very famous people,” the actress said. “But no one knows that I was involved with those people.”

“I wrote a lot of things that didn’t make it because I was like, ‘This is maybe for God’s eyes only,'” the “Transformers” star added. “Some of it is too much when you’re a known person. If I had the freedom of just being a poet, and people not really wanting to dig too much into my personal life, I would have included more entries like that.”
The actress also insisted the book isn’t meant to be some kind of expose, but rather a message to other women that there’s a place where your pain can live.
“To put it into art makes it useful to other people, and so you don’t just suffer with it on your own,” Fox said.
In January 2022, the actress announced she and Baker were engaged. She shares three children with her ex-husband, actor Brian Austin Green. Kelly has a daughter from a previous relationship.
