The Media Research Center (MRC) awarded Matt Walsh, the host of the Daily Wire’s “The Matt Walsh Show,” the 2023 Bulldog Award for Outstanding Podcast in a statement released Tuesday.
The MRC began the Bulldog Awards last year and contrasted them with the Pulitzer Prizes, which it said “honored left-wing journalists who pushed the liberal agenda.”
“The Bulldog Award winners are trusted truth-tellers, unlike left-wing operatives who win Pulitzers. These are courageous individuals dedicated to informing Americans about stories the leftist media ignore,” MRC President L. Brent Bozell III said of the awards.
“As host of The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh Show, which is one of the most popular and influential podcasts in the country, Walsh has become known for his unwavering stance against the left’s transgender ideology and their harmful practices, including the sexual mutilation of children. His groundbreaking documentary, ‘What Is A Woman?’ was a significant milestone exposing the dangers and inconsistencies of the left’s gender politics. In addition to Walsh’s political commentary, he is the author of the best-selling children’s book, ‘Johnny the Walrus,'” the MRC’s statement said.
Walsh reached a career milestone when his podcast reached the number one spot among U.S. news podcasts on Spotify for the last week in April. The award also comes after several attempts to silence Walsh, including the demonetization of his YouTube channel and the hacking of his phone last month.
“Last week I was demonetized by YouTube, then hacked, and the Left was celebrating my demise,” Walsh tweeted to his 1.7 million followers in response to the news of his Spotify ranking. “This week I have the number one podcast in the category on Spotify. Thanks for all of your support. You’re the reason they can’t cancel me.”

Other recipients of 2023 Bulldog Awards include Chaya Raichik, the owner of the popular Twitter account Libs of TikTok, and Karol Markowicz, the co-author of the recent book “Stolen Youth: How Radicals Are Erasing Innocence And Indoctrinating A Generation.”
