Right-leaning news aggregator Matt Drudge slammed Breitbart News’ Steve Bannon on Wednesday after news broke that the former Trump strategist claimed in a book that the president’s son is “treasonous” before admitting that his own news organization was illegitimate.
In a tweet, Drudge wrote, “No wonder schizophrenic Steve Bannon has been walking around with a small army of bodyguards…”

Bannon told author Michael Wolff that Mueller would “crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV,” adding that Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with the Russian lawyer was “treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s***.”
Drudge was not the only person who slammed Bannon, dozens of right-leaning media personalities, politicians, and social media users took shots at the former Trump campaign chairman.
The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro concluded that “Bannon’s utterly full of crap on virtually every level, of course. He always has been. But his comments are going to cause a whole new round of headaches for the Trump administration, since the media have insisted from the outset that Bannon is far more important than he has ever actually been.”
