Lifestyle maven Martha Stewart on Tuesday announced she is launching a line of cannabis-infused products for dogs. The oil drops and soft-baked chews for canines will be part of a joint project with Canopy Growth Corporation, a world-leading diversified cannabis, hemp, and vaporization device company.
The company announced the launch of Martha Stewart CBD for Pet, “a new line of scientifically-backed CBD wellness solutions for canines developed by Martha Stewart with her own beloved dogs in mind,” according to a press release. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived mainly from cannabis and hemp that is being researched for reportedly relieving symptoms of anxiety, chronic pain, and can help with insomnia.
The Martha Stewart CBD for Pet product portfolio includes oil drops and soft-baked chews in three gourmet flavor combinations and formulas – Wellness, Calm and Mobility – designed to support pet mental and physical well-being, reduce the effects of everyday stress, and maintain joint health and mobility by harnessing the power of CBD and other ingredients. The product packaging is inspired by Stewart’s own Chow Chows and French Bulldogs.

Stewart says she became curious about CBD after working with rapper Snoop Dogg (aka Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.), a heavy cannabis user, CNBC reported. Stewart said she was interested in exploring derivatives of the plant that are said to have health benefits, especially those that help with sleep.
“I mean I did three seasons of our show, ‘Martha and Snoop Dog Potluck Dinner Party,’ learning a lot about cannabis. I’m not a user of cannabis but then I got very interested in not only cannabis but also in hemp and the derivatives,” she told CNBC.
“I’m very interested in supplements… in what will make you live longer, what will make your brain stay clear and what will make you continue to be active. Those are the kinds of things that I’m looking for, not the secret to eternal youth — I’m not taking injections. But I am trying very hard to keep myself in as good shape as possible for a long as possible,” said Stewart, 79.
