Longtime “Today” show host Al Roker revealed Friday that he’s in the hospital after a blood cot in his leg “sent some clots into” his lungs.
The 68-year-old popular weather presenter on NBC shared a message Friday on Instagram that said he’s doing okay and thanked fans for all their “wishes and prayers.” His post included a photo that appeared to be taken from a hospital room. The snap shows a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a coffee mug with the message on it that read, “NBC News weather.”
“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” Roker wrote. “Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs.”

“After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery,” he added. “Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”
Other hosts on the morning show shared their well wishes for the TV personality on Instagram and Twitter.
Dylan Dreyer tweeted, “Love you Al, and praying everyday for a speedy recovery.”
While Savannah Guthrie shared,”You’re the strongest person we know. We miss you and will see you soon.”
“Love you brother…can’t wait to have you back, ” NBC host Craig Melvin tweeted.
While Hoda Kotb wrote, “Al Roker…hurry back to us. counting the days xoxoxo.”
On the Friday edition of the show, Guthrie told fans that Roker is “in good spirits” while Dreyer shared how incredible her cohost is, the “Today” show noted.
“Not that you need us to tell you how incredible Al is, the first time I called him, he immediately said, ‘Hey Dilly-Dill! How are the boys?'” Dylan explained. “That’s classic Al.”
And co-host Carson Daly said simply, “We need him back,” as he noted Roker’s inspiration to him.
