Lindsay Lohan, whose career imploded amid reported drug and booze binges, is back in the news again.
As you may have already guessed, it’s not good.
While visiting an oceanside resort in Phuket, Thailand, Lohan posted some photos of herself getting ready to go in the water. But she’s not wearing a bikini as she usually is in her posts – she’s wearing a birkini.
A birkini is a modest swimsuit to say the least. It covers the entire body except the face, the hands and the feet. While the design respects Islamic traditions of modesty, it’s unlikely a Muslim woman would ever be allowed to wear it – even if the men in her life allowed her to go to the beach.
So why is LiLo wearing a burkini? Because she’s also studying Islam. She was pictured recently with the Koran under her arm and interviewed about her life change.
“I do study it,” she said. “Nothing is confirmed yet,” she added, but noted that she does find “solace” in reading it, something “that feeds my soul.”
“I have reached inside and I found what I want my intentions to be in the world … focusing on taking control of what I want out of life,” Lohan said. “You can’t just convert to a religion overnight – it’s a culture and practice [and] I don’t want to comment on something I haven’t finished’, she said.
Well, she can’t find a role in a decent movie – and hasn’t in years – but LiLo is still finding a way to stay in the headlines, at least the tabloids.
