Patrick Clancy is set to appear on “60 Minutes” this Sunday, marking the first time he’s spoken publicly since his now ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s triple-murder trial of their three children was declared a mistrial.
Lindsay has admitted to killing the couple’s three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan, in January 2023, while the couple was still married. She strangled them one by one with exercise bands in their family home after she sent Patrick to pick up takeout and medication for one of their children.
Patrick testified for the Commonwealth and was then cross-examined by the defense during the trial in July. He testified about his wife’s mental decline — which he said started back in September 2022 — and to what happened in the moments before and after Lindsay strangled their children in their basement. The grieving father gave a statement to the media in the days following the killings, but has been otherwise relatively quiet.
Despite his wife’s admission to the killings and her defense strategy that she killed the kids while suffering from postpartum psychosis, Patrick has been the subject of evidence-free conspiracies from reality stars and internet personalities. In one conspiracy, it’s suggested that Patrick actually killed the children and then framed Lindsay, whom he somehow deceived into believing she was the one who killed them.
He’s suffered endless harassment, threats, and ridicule in the wake of his wife killing his children from people online.

Notably, Patrick was the one to find his wife outside their home after she said she tried to kill herself. On a 911 call, a desperate and terrified Patrick is heard going into the home, where he finds his three children’s dead bodies. The audio of the 911 call has been sealed by the judge at Patrick’s request, but the transcript has been made public. Jurors in the trial who heard the call, and who thought Lindsay should have been found not criminally responsible by reason of insanity, have publicly said they will never forget the audio they heard.
Lawyers representing Patrick have already fired a warning shot at influencers and celebrities who have lied about him to their viewers. A statement from attorney Howard Cooper said Patrick has been forced to endure “relentless, escalating, and destructive defamation” as well as “outright falsehoods” and warned that those spreading such claims could face legal consequences.
Patrick’s decision to do an exclusive interview with “60 Minutes” is also noteworthy. The interview is a major get for Bari Weiss, who was named editor-in-chief of CBS News last October. The sit-down will continue what’s been a strong run of high-profile exclusives for Weiss since taking over, including an interview with the U.S. Air Force officer who was shot down over Iran and survived two days alone behind enemy lines.
