Kourtney Kardashian finally broke her silence about what she has called a “life-threatening” medical situation that suddenly put her husband, Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker, in the hospital.
The 43-year-old reality star shared a message on her Instagram Story explaining why Barker was suddenly admitted to not one, but two hospitals last week, the “Today” show reported. Kardashian said the two had gone in for a “routine endoscopy together,” and things later turned “scary.”
“Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been,” Kardashian wrote. “Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
“I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support,” she added. “I am so touched and appreciative. I am so so thankful to our specialists, doctors, and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and me during our stay.”

“It’s crazy how sometimes words could never truly express the gratitude or feelings I have inside of me,” the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star continued in another post.
The rockstar drummer also updated fans with a post on his Instagram Story about how he had gone in Monday for an endoscopy and was “feeling great.”
“But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” Barker’s message read. “During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.”
“This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis,” he added. “I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
The 46-year-old musician made headlines on June 28 after reports surfaced that Barker was rushed to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center and later to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
A little more than a month ago, Barker and Kardashian tied the knot at a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy. In October 2021, Kourtney and Travis revealed in posts on social media that they were engaged — just months after the reality star officially confirmed in February that they were in a relationship. Kourtney has three children from a prior relationship. Travis is also a father to two kids from a previous marriage.
