Despite being supposed worshipers of “the science,” the narrative being promoted by the Left when it comes to COVID-19 is, quite literally, “Democrat good, Republican bad.”

For example, Cenk Uygur provided this insightful commentary on the “danger” of conservatives.

Now people are saying they won’t travel to red states because it’s a danger to be around conservatives. Nearly half of Republicans say they won’t take the vaccine. It’s literally hazardous to your health to be around this death cult. Their ignorance has reached a clinical level,” Uygur tweeted.

But what does “the science” actually say? Here are some key facts and figures regarding COVID-19 which paint a different picture.

Cases

In terms of raw count, the states who have recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases are as follows:

  1. California (3,604,395) — Democrat
  2. Texas (2,826,806) — Republican
  3. Florida (2,094,670) — Republican
  4. Illinois (1,285,398) — Democrat
  5. Pennsylvania (1,082,062) — Democrat
  6. Georgia (1,076,644) — Democrat
  7. New York (1,074,867, doesn’t include 894,683 cases from New York City) — Democrat
  8. Ohio (1,043,729) — Republican
  9. New Jersey (959,921) — Democrat
  10. North Carolina (936,425) — Republican

By raw count, six of the top ten states are “blue states,” while just four are “red states,” with the “top state” being California, a heavily Democratic state.

Looking at the 7-day case rate per 100,000 in population, the “top ten” states are ranked as follows:

  1. Michigan (551.8) — Democrat
  2. Rhode Island (304.4) — Democrat
  3. New Jersey (294.8) — Democrat
  4. New York City (264.5) — Democrat
  5. Minnesota (261.4) — Democrat
  6. Pennsylvania (253.1) — Democrat
  7. Delaware (239.2) — Democrat
  8. New York (234.4) — Democrat
  9. New Hampshire (227.6) — Democrat
  10. Connecticut (223.3) — Democrat

Despite Uygur’s claim that Republicans are part of a “death cult,” the highest rates of COVID-19 across the past seven days are entirely limited to Democrat-run states.

Deaths

In terms of raw count, the states who have experienced the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths are as follows:

  1. California (59,258) — Democrat
  2. Texas (48,273) — Republican
  3. Florida (34,12) — Republican
  4. New York City (31,950) — Democrat
  5. Pennsylvania (25,472) — Democrat
  6. New Jersey (24,945) — Democrat
  7. Illinois (23,826) — Democrat
  8. Georgia (19,548) — Democrat
  9. New York (19,074) — Democrat
  10. Ohio (18,917) — Republican

By raw count, seven of the “top ten” states (including New York City as a “state”) are “blue states,” while three are “red states.”

In terms of death rate per 100,000 in population since January 2020, the states are ranked as follows:

  1. New York City (380) — Democrat
  2. New Jersey (280) — Democrat
  3. Massachusetts (25) — Democrat
  4. Rhode Island (249) — Democrat
  5. Mississippi (239) — Republican
  6. Arizona (235) — Democrat
  7. Connecticut (223) — Democrat
  8. Louisiana (220) — Republican
  9. South Dakota (220) — Republican
  10. Alabama (218) — Republican

By death rate per 100,000 in population since January 2020, seven of the ten states are “blue states,” with four of the top five being “blue states.”

In terms of death rate per 100,000 in population in the past seven days, the states are ranked as follows:

  1. New York City (4.3) – Democrat
  2. Georgia (2.9) – Democrat
  3. New Jersey (2.8) – Democrat
  4. Utah (2.7) – Republican
  5. Montana (2.2) – Republican
  6. Nebraska (2.2) – Republican
  7. West Virginia (2.2) – Republican
  8. Delaware (2.1) – Democrat
  9. Maryland (1.9) – Democrat
  10. Missouri (1.9) – Republican

By date rate per 100,000 in population in the past seven days, five of the ten states are “blue states,” with the top three being “blue states.”
