On Sunday, social media was abuzz with a report that an employee of ICE, Justin Gaertner, a retired Marine corporal who had his legs blown off In Afghanistan, sported a Nazi tattoo on his left elbow. That fit with the Left’s characterization of ICE employees working on immigration as Nazis; the story was even given additional life in an article for the leftist publication The New Yorker.
One problem: the claim was false. And on Monday, ICE released a blistering statement attacking those who had given the story credibility:
