Walz also <a href="https://www.northernnewsnow.com/2025/06/14/minnesota-lawmakers-shot-their-homes-overnight/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were both shot numerous times but are expected to survive.

Two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers and their spouses were reportedly gunned down in &#8220;targeting&#8221; shootings on Friday night.
State Sen. John Hoffman and state Rep. Melissa Hortman and their spouses were shot by a suspect allegedly impersonating a police officer in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, <a href="https://www.fox9.com/news/melissa-hortman-john-hoffman-lawmakers-shot-minnesota">according</a> to FOX 9 Minneapolis.
The condition of the lawmakers and their spouses is currently unknown.
There is a manhunt underway for the suspect, who is described as a white male with brown hair, wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants, Fox 9 reports.

&#8220;I’ve been briefed this morning on an ongoing situation involving targeted shootings in Champlin and Brooklyn Park,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement are on the scene. We will share more information soon.&#8221;
