Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction, a department spokeswoman said.
“Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/17/politics/kristi-noem-hostpital">CNN</a>.
Noem is being treated at a hospital in Washington, D.C., where she was rushed by ambulance Tuesday afternoon. It is unclear what triggered Noem’s reaction.
Noem was one of President Donald Trump’s first nominees, being appointed just days after the president took office in January. Since then, Noem has been one of the chief apologists for Trump’s immigration and deportation agenda to the public, as well as responsible for its implementation.
Immigration has been Trump’s key issue since he first ran for office in 2016, and his handling of it is currently his strongest issue with Americans. According to the results of an <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-administration/poll-americans-disapprove-trumps-performance-republicans-manage-splits-rcna212585?taid=684f0a494f8e5800013ab5b8&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter">NBC News Decision Desk</a> poll released on Sunday, Americans view Trump’s handling of border security and immigration 51% positively to 49% negatively.
Trump’s immigration agenda has proven the most popular among immigrants to the United States. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/legal-immigrants-have-swung-40-points-right-on-immigration-favor-gop-polling-expert">said</a> last week that immigrant voters in the United States have swung more toward Trump on immigration than any other demographic.
“Foreign-born voters have gone tremendously to the right on this issue in 2024 and 2025 versus where they were in 2020,” said Enten. “You go back to 2020, Democrats, get this, held a 32-point lead on this issue. Immigrant voters were in the Democratic camp. Jump forward to 2024, 2025. Look at that shift. A 40-point shift to the Right among immigrant voters.”
“Republicans now lead on this issue by eight points over Democrats, more so than any other group that I could find,” he added.

A federal judge in Boston blocked the Trump administration on Tuesday from barring gender identities on passports that differ from a person’s biological sex.
U.S. District Judge Julia Kobick issued a preliminary injunction that expands on an April ruling that applied to six plaintiffs who sued the federal government. Kobick granted the plaintiffs’ request to make the lawsuit a class action, expanding the injunction to block President Donald Trump’s order restricting passports to only reflect biological sex.
The judge’s <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.280559/gov.uscourts.mad.280559.115.0.pdf">order</a> applies to “all people (1) whose gender identity is different from the sex assigned to them under the Passport Policy and/or who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, and (2) who have applied, or who, but for the Passport Policy, would apply, for a U.S. passport issued with an ‘M’ or ‘F’ sex designation that is different from the sex assigned to that individual under the Passport Policy.”
Also covered by the court order are “all people whose gender identity is different from the sex assigned to them under the Passport Policy and who have applied, or who, but for the Passport Policy, would apply, for a U.S. passport with an ‘X’ designation.”
On his first day in office, the president signed an order staking his administration’s position recognizing the reality of biological sex. The <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/">order</a> was titled: “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government.”
The order in part directed that the “Secretaries of State and Homeland Security, and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, shall implement changes to require that government-issued identification documents, including passports, visas, and Global Entry cards, accurately reflect the holder’s sex.”
Kobrick’s order is the latest in a series of wide-ranging injunctions leveled at the Trump administration blocking a broad swath of the president’s agenda. Republicans have taken steps to crack down on nationwide injunctions that have hobbled the Trump administration.
Last month, the Department of Justice <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-doj-asks-supreme-court-to-restrain-activist-judges">requested</a> that the Supreme Court rein in the use of such orders.
“For the first 170 years of American jurisprudence, nationwide injunctions were virtually unknown,” Solicitor General John Sauer <a href="https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24/24A886/354849/20250407110347000_24A886%20Reply.pdf">wrote</a> in a court filing. “Their use remained sparing until this century, when they saw a dramatic upsurge in 2017, followed by an explosion in the last three months.”
“These injunctions exceed the district courts’ authority under Article III and gravely encroach on the President’s executive power under Article II. This Court’s intervention is urgently needed to restore the constitutional balance of separated powers,” he added.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) in March <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jim-jordan-seeks-to-defund-nationwide-injunctions-stop-anti-trump-abuse">asked</a> the House Committee on Appropriations in a letter to use Congress’ “power of the purse” to stop the “abuse of nationwide injunctive authority.”

Federal Judge Blocks Trump Order Mandating Biological Sex On Passports

Wages for blue-collar workers are up more in the first five months of President Donald Trump’s second term than under any other president since 1969.
“Thanks to @POTUS’s pro-growth, America First policies, real wages for hourly workers are up nearly 2% in the first five months of @realDonaldTrump’s second term — the strongest growth in 60 years,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a post on X.
Bessent’s post includes a graph showing 1.7% wage growth for blue-collar workers, defined as nonsupervisory and production workers, during the first five months of Trump’s second term. The next highest wage growth rate for those workers since 1969 came during Trump’s first term, when it hit 1.3% over the first five months.
“No president has done that before — except President Trump in his first term. Hardworking Americans and Main Street businesses have never had a stronger ally in the @WhiteHouse,” Bessent said.

The rise in the wages of blue-collar workers has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/great-numbers-report-shows-no-significant-tariff-related-price-jumps-for-3rd-straight-month?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=%E2%80%98Great+Numbers%21%E2%80%99%3A+Report+Shows+No+Significant+Tariff-Related+Price+Jumps+For+3rd+Straight+Month">coincided</a> with a decrease in inflation. Earlier this month, Consumer Price Index data from May showed that inflation has stayed somewhat steady since April. The report showed that inflation rose 2.4% last month after rising 2.3% in April.
The inflation data came in under economists’ expectations, which were set on a higher target because of tariffs’ expected impact on prices.
“CPI JUST OUT. GREAT NUMBERS! FED SHOULD LOWER ONE FULL POINT,” Trump posted on Truth Social at the time. “WOULD PAY MUCH LESS INTEREST ON DEBT COMING DUE. SO IMPORTANT!!!”
The White House is now pushing the One Big, Beautiful Bill to pass through Congress to “supercharge” the economy and provide fresh energy to some of the large-scale trends taking place, such as rising wages.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill will <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Preserving-and-Expanding-Low-Tax-Rates-to-Create-American-Economic-Prosperity.pdf">raise</a> take-home pay between $7,800 and $13,300 for the average family of four. It will increase wages between $6,100 to $11,600 for the average worker,” Bessent <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1932808135863054443">told</a> Congress during a hearing last week.
Bessent has warned that the consequences for not passing the bill would be “cataclysmic.”
“It would be the largest tax hike in history. It would be a disaster for businesses, for working Americans, and for our status in the world,” he <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1932868781040136656">told</a> lawmakers. “We would see increases in taxes of thousands of dollars on working Americans, we would see businesses contract, and we would see a substantial increase in the unemployment rate.”

Under Trump, Blue-Collar Wages Soar At Fastest Rate Since 1969

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that killing Iran&#8217;s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would end decades of conflict between Israel and Iran.
Netanyahu did not rule out an Israeli strike against Iran’s supreme leader amid reports that President Donald Trump stopped Israel from taking such a step in the latest round of hostilities.
Asked about reports that Trump vetoed a plan to kill Khamenei, Netanyahu said that rather than escalating the conflict, the supreme leader’s death would “end the conflict,” according to <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/netanyahu-tells-abc-ruling-taking-irans-supreme-leader/story?id=122868515">ABC News</a>.
“We’ve had half a century of conflict spread by this regime that terrorizes everyone in the Middle East; has bombed the Aramco oil fields in Saudi Arabia; is spreading terrorism and subversion and sabotage everywhere,” Netanyahu said. “The ‘forever war’ is what Iran wants, and they’re bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, bringing an end to this aggression, and we can only do so by standing up to the forces of evil.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the prime minister did not list the supreme leader’s death as one of Israel’s goals for the current conflict, which began on Friday with strikes from Israel on Iranian top military leaders, key nuclear sites, and other important targets.
“We are going to continue until we remove the two existential threats: the nuclear threat and the threat of 20,000 ballistic missiles that are equivalent to two nuclear bombs,” Netanyahu said.
The United States has denied any active involvement in Israel’s fight against Iran. Netanyahu said that the United States has an interest in seeing Iran defeated, however.
“Today, it&#8217;s Tel Aviv. Tomorrow, it&#8217;s New York. Look, I understand &#8216;America First&#8217;. I don&#8217;t understand &#8216;America Dead&#8217;. That&#8217;s what these people want. They chant &#8216;Death to America.&#8217; So we&#8217;re doing something that is in the service of mankind, of humanity, and it&#8217;s a battle of good against evil. America does, should, and does stand with the good. That&#8217;s what President Trump is doing, and I deeply appreciate his support,” the prime minister said.

“They’d like to talk, but they should have done that before,” said Trump. “I had 60 days, and they had 60 days. On the 61st day, I said, ‘We don’t have a deal.’ They have to make a deal, and it’s painful for both parties. But I’d say Iran is not winning this war, and they should talk, and they should talk immediately, before it’s too late.”

Netanyahu: Killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Would ‘End The Conflict’

President Donald Trump spent part of his Monday trolling Tucker Carlson after the former Fox News host questioned the president’s handling of Iran and conflict in the Middle East.
Last week in a newsletter, Carlson accused Trump of being “complicit” in Israel’s strikes against Iran that sparked the current days-long exchange between the two Middle Eastern powers. The newsletter <a href="https://x.com/yashar/status/1933530302120669523">arrived</a> in the inboxes of Carlson’s readers under the headline: “This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War.”
“Earlier this week, unnamed Washington sources expressed concern over Israel’s ability to fend off Iran’s retaliation, which would inevitably lead to Benjamin Netanyahu ordering the American military to step in and fight on his country’s behalf,” Carlson wrote. “On Thursday, Iran’s president threatened to ‘destroy’ any country that eliminates his government’s nuclear facilities. Now, the world will learn what that looks like.”
Trump responded to Carlson’s criticisms while attending the Group of Seven Summit in Canada.
“Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that, ‘IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!’” Trump posted on <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114695595047194931">Truth Social</a> on Monday evening.
Earlier in the day, Trump dismissed a question from a reporter on Carlson’s concerns.
“I don&#8217;t know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen,” said Trump, appearing to jab at Carlson over his exit from Fox News. Carlson now runs his own media business, the Tucker Carlson Network, and hosts a popular interview podcast.
Trump’s support for Israel and his Middle East policy appears to have alienated Carlson, as well as other isolationist-minded supporters. The comic Dave Smith recently called for Trump’s impeachment over the president’s handling of Iran.
“I supported him this last year. I apologize for doing so. It was a bad calculation. At the time, it seemed like the right one, but he should be impeached and removed for this one,” Smith <a href="https://x.com/krystalball/status/1934628084390543399">said</a> on a recent episode of “Breaking Points.” “All of his supporters should turn on him. It&#8217;s the absolute betrayal of everything that he ran and campaigned on and everything that he stood for.”

Trump Lays Into ‘Kooky’ Tucker Carlson Over Opposition To Israeli Strikes On Iran

President Donald Trump plans to leave an economic summit of world leaders early because of the conflict in the Middle East.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a post on X Monday that Trump had planned to stay at the economic summit longer, but will return to Washington Monday night “because of what’s going on in the Middle East.” Trump left Washington for Canada this week to meet with world leaders at the Group of Seven Summit.
“President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State,” said Leavitt.

The change in the president’s plans came as he posted a warning to residents in Tehran to leave the city immediately. The Iranian capital has been bombarded for days by Israel in targeted strikes on military and other key locations.
“Iran should have signed the &#8216;deal&#8217; I told them to sign,” said Trump on Truth Social. “What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

Earlier Monday, the president <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/president-trump-says-tehran-wants-to-talk-about-ceasefire-after-pummeling-from-israel">confirmed</a> that Iran has reached out through intermediaries to negotiate to end the conflict.
“They’d like to talk, but they should have done that before,” the president told reporters at the summit. “I had 60 days, and they had 60 days. On the 61st day, I said, ‘We don’t have a deal.’ They have to make a deal, and it’s painful for both parties. While at the summit, world leaders were floated a draft of a joint statement on the Israel-Iran conflict that, among other stances, would have pushed both sides to negotiate and end to the conflict. Trump reportedly refused to sign on to the joint statement.
