It all started with one book reading being denied at more than 50 public libraries even as Drag Queen Story Hours across America were welcomed with open arms. This was enough for actor and author Kirk Cameron to go on a mission to create something different, and now, See You at the Library returned for its third year this past Saturday, August 16.
This year, over 200 story hours were hosted in libraries across the country, uniting families around timeless values like faith, family, and freedom.
The flagship gathering this year took place in the heart of Washington, D.C., at the Library of Congress. The historic event featured special guest readers Kirk Cameron, “Duck Dynasty” alum Missy Robertson, and Daily Wire host Michael Knowles. Held in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education’s Center of Faith, the moment marked a turning point, elevating the event from a grassroots effort to a national movement.
Cameron spoke candidly about what was at stake, telling the assembled crowd, “At the end of the day, it is about us recognizing that it is our job, not his, not theirs, to turn our country back to what made her great in the first place — faith, moral integrity, and courage.” He said America will either experience a “great awakening” or a “rude awakening” depending on the moral courage of its people.
Robertson echoed his words, saying, “When we say we are coming back as a country, we are saying we are coming back to the values that God wrote on each of our hearts.”

Jasveen Sangha, better known in pop culture as the Ketamine Queen, agreed to plead guilty Monday to selling drugs to actor Matthew Perry, who overdosed in October 2023.
The 42-year-old, who has joint citizenship in the United States and the U.K., was charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine, one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute ketamine, and five counts of distribution of ketamine, per <a href="https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/crime/matthew-perry-drug-dealer-trial-plea-b2809860.html">The Independent</a>.
She faces up to 45 years in prison across all charges.
Sangha was one of five people charged over the actor’s death. The other primary person being investigated was Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who was charged with distributing the drug to Perry. He signed a plea deal in June.
Three other people pleaded guilty last year in exchange for their cooperation with the investigation, including making statements implicating Sangha and Plasencia, the outlet noted.
In the weeks after the “Friends” star died, it was revealed that Plasencia allegedly texted another doctor, Mark Chavez, saying, “I wonder how much this moron will pay.” Plasencia supplied Perry with 20 vials of ketamine, equal to 2,000 mg of the drug, along with ketamine lozenges and syringes in the month before his death, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
According to prosecutors, Perry paid Sangha $6,000 cash for 25 vials of ketamine four days prior to his death.
Ketamine is a medication primarily used as an anesthetic in both humans and animals. It is classified as a Schedule III controlled substance and is often used for the treatment of depression, which was Perry’s reason for using it. The 54-year-old actor had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, which he detailed in his 2022 memoir titled “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.”
The “Friends” star was found face down in his hot tub on October 28, 2023, at his home in Pacific Palisades, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office determined he had drowned, but attributed his death to ketamine, which Perry had been taking as part of a therapy. The levels of ketamine found in his system were so high that they were close to the range that would be used for general anesthesia during surgery.
“At the high levels of ketamine found in his postmortem blood specimens, the main lethal effects would be from both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression,” the report said.

‘Ketamine Queen’ Will Plead Guilty In Matthew Perry Overdose Case

Actor Chris Pratt praised President Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., urging people not to let their negative feelings about Trump cloud their view of Kennedy.
The 46-year-old “Guardians of the Galaxy” star said during a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast that he “spent a number of occasions” with RFK Jr. in a “strictly family dinner kind of vibe.” 
“I really got along with him well and think he’s great. He’s funny, he’s wonderful. I love him,” the superhero film star admitted.

In politics, you inherit enemies. When you jump on the bandwagon with the most divisive president ever, it makes sense that you’re going to be made to look terrible.”
“I don’t know what to believe [about RFK Jr.],” he said. “It’s not like I say to [him], ‘Let’s talk about this’ while we’re playing cards or having fun or having dinner. I’m not going to pick his brain to find out exactly which of those things are true. I just assume that none of them are? For the most part, I wish him well.”

Pratt went on to praise Kennedy’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ initiative. 
He said, “There’s certain things [that Kennedy] oversees that seem to be supported in a bipartisan way, like getting terrible toxic stuff out of our kids’ food.”
“I think that’s a great thing. If you just do that, that’s amazing. I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d be having an allergic reaction to,” Pratt said. “To be like, ‘Oh, well, if they do it, I don’t want it to happen. I’ll put Clorox in my children’s cereal myself!’ It’s like, be reasonable here. There’s certain things that would be a good thing to have. I want them all to be successful.”
Pratt, who is married to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Katherine, has not publicized his political leanings. He alluded to the country needing unity in the days leading up to the contentious 2024 election.
“How do we become a nation of honorable winners and graceful losers? It starts with remembering no matter who wins or loses, there are still going to be people who need help in this country. Find them. Be of service,” he <a href="https://www.mariashriversundaypaper.com/chris-pratt-op-ed/">wrote</a> at the time.

Fans were delighted by internet personality Taylor Malkov and professional dancer Haim Pershtein’s star spangled performance last week, which opened with &#8220;The Star Spangled Banner&#8221; followed by the Trump favorite “Y.M.C.A.” by Village People.
A video clip of the pair dancing has 2.3 million views on X and is quickly racking up views across social media platforms.

A YouTube commenter <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfNyJky6EUc">wrote</a>, “Whether you love or hate Trump, you must admit this was a brilliant idea. It was funny, original, and so well-done that you couldn&#8217;t tell who was the non-professional dancer. It put a smile on my face.”
President Trump is widely considered the most supportive American president Israel has ever known thanks to him moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty of the Golan Heights, and brokering the historic Abraham Accords, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/thank-you-mr-president-israel-posts-huge-signs-of-gratitude-to-trump">reported</a>. 
One week before the election last November, a poll found that 66% of Israelis supported Trump while just 17% of them were hoping Kamala Harris won.
Months before the election, Trump also spoke about the October 7 massacre, saying, “Weak leadership in the United States allowed this to happen, and it should never have happened.”
“Never again,” Trump promised at the time.

Trump-Inspired Routine On Israeli ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Goes Viral

Former late night host Conan O’Brien weighed in with his thoughts about “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert being canceled, saying he believes the future of this genre is doomed.
“I’ve dabbled in other things, but that’s where I’ve lived,” the former host of “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien,” and “Conan” <a href="https://www.tvinsider.com/1209424/conan-obrien-predicts-late-night-tv-disappear-amid-stephen-colbert-cancellation/">said</a>, per TV Insider. “And for those of you under 40, late-night television was a service designed to distract college students until science would perfect the internet and online pornography. And boy, did they get that right.”
O’Brien made his remarks as part of a speech he gave while being inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame.
“It’s all electrifying a new generation of viewers,” the longtime host continued. “Yes, late-night television, as we have known it since around 1950, is going to disappear. But those voices are not going anywhere. People like Stephen Colbert are too talented and too essential to go away.”
He also commented on Colbert’s situation specifically, saying, “Stephen is going to evolve and shine brighter than ever in a new format that he controls completely.”
“So, technology can do whatever they want,” O’Brien added. “It can make television a pill. It can make television shows a high-protein, chewable, vanilla-flavored capsule with added fiber. It still won’t matter, if the stories are good, if the performances are honest and inspired, if the people making it are brave and of goodwill.”
Commenters on X disagreed, saying that format of programming wasn&#8217;t going away, but that insufferable hosts like Colbert would become a thing of the past.

&#8220;Late night TV won&#8217;t disappear as Greg Gutfeld&#8217;s late night talk show is thriving,&#8221; one person on X <a href="https://x.com/GoForDawn/status/1957394601133674589">commented</a>. &#8220;Perhaps late night talk shows will simply revert back to the comedy &amp; entertainment from which they were originally created and not the psycho political propaganda and nanny scolding too many became.&#8221;
Another person chimed in, <a href="https://x.com/tibblion2/status/1957414382914175404">writing</a>, &#8220;Because they overinflated the budgets and alienated half the audience; all other options became available through streaming and online services.&#8221;
CBS announced last month that it was canceling “The Late Show” after the upcoming season, which has inspired outsized reactions from the Left. The network described the move as a “purely financial decision.” A recent report stated that the program was losing $40 million annually.
Colbert went off on an expletive-laced tirade during his first monologue following the announcement, blasting President Donald Trump and CBS. Colbert mentioned how the network’s parent company, Paramount Global, paid Trump a $16 million settlement earlier this month after being accused of election interference.
Other late night mainstays such as Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon have come to Colbert’s defense, saying the reports claiming that “The Late Show” was losing tens of millions were “<a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/awards/jimmy-kimmel-defends-colbert-late-night-tv-not-dying-1236479160/">nonsensical</a>.”

Conan O’Brien Predicts Late Night Shows Will ‘Disappear’ Following Colbert Cancellation

Despite most companies moving away from virtue signaling, the NFL has decided to keep a frequently maligned feature this season. For the sixth straight season, all 32 teams will have messages painted in the end zones with social justice themes and undertones.
The NFL will again be advertising messages such as “End Racism,” “Stop Hate,” “Choose Love,” or “Inspire Change,” per <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nfl-end-zone-messages-end-racism-593ea0278bccb1d30f8c741ccadcf943">Associated Press</a>. Just like in years prior, the opposing end zone will bear the message, “It Takes All of Us.” The outlet noted that “Inspire Change” is the only update from last year, when the message said, “Vote.”
Players will also have the option to display these messages on their helmets.
“We’re working hand-in-hand with players, and alongside our clubs, to amplify player voices and underscore what is most important to them,” Anna Isaacson, NFL senior VP of social responsibility, told the AP. “For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America’s most popular sport.”

“This is an honor and responsibility that the league takes seriously, which is why we actively invest in off-field programs and on-field initiatives that promote unity,” she added.
Reactions on social media were mostly negative, with followers questioning why the NFL was keeping up this campaign when so many other companies and organizations are moving in the opposite direction.
“Can&#8217;t we just escape politics and wokeism for a measly 3 hours and watch football? I&#8217;m out. I&#8217;m totally done with the NFL,” one reply <a href="https://x.com/PamelaHensley22/status/1957392218513129655">said</a>.
“It&#8217;s a shame, the actual game is lost on woke social practices.”
Many commenters also remarked on the current controversy about male cheerleaders being promoted as part of several NFL squads.
“Dumb. And also now with the male cheerleaders? Why?” one person <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fan-backlash-against-male-nfl-cheerleaders-intensifies-vikings-issue-statement">wrote</a>.
While male cheerleaders have been part of NFL squads for several years, a clip of rookie cheerleader Blaize Shiek being introduced went viral on social media, igniting significant backlash. Shiek is one of two male cheerleaders on the Minnesota Vikings squad.
In 2022, Justine Lindsay became the first transgender-identifying man to become an NFL cheerleader with the Carolina Panthers.
“I have had so many parents of young kids in the trans community say thank you for what I’m doing and that their son or daughter is watching me,” Lindsay <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/first-openly-transgender-nfl-cheerleader-justine-lindsay-a-face-of-the-possible">said</a> at the time, per NFL.com. “They are so pleased to see that I’m tearing down that wall.”
Lindsay will be cheering again for the Panthers for the 2025 season.
