Joe Biden and Democrats are trying to undermine parents’ rights to a disturbing extent. According to the president, America’s youth are “not somebody else’s kids; these are all our kids.” I’m going to go on the record as a proud mother of two: my son and daughter belong to my husband and I, no one else. They certainly do not belong to the government – especially a government that seems intent on putting children last and systematically attacking the right of parents to raise their kids as they see fit. Biden and far-Left radicals are using our kids like pawns to score political points. It’s disgusting, it’s beneath the office of the president, and it needs to end.
We all remember when Biden’s Department of Justice put concerned Virginia parents at school board meetings on a watch list usually reserved for terrorists. That chilling piece of government persecution helped send Glenn Youngkin to the Governor’s mansion in 2021, where he’s since done great work to protect Virginia families. Many Americans thought that was rock-bottom. Unfortunately, infringing on parents’ rights and putting our kids last is a feature, not a bug, of the far-Left’s plan to remake America. Biden and his Democrat allies have been steadfast supporters of allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports, a cruel injustice to girls who work hard to be the best in their sport, robbing them of scholarship opportunities and victories that are rightly theirs. Watch a video of a trans swimmer soundly beating the best female swimmers in America and tell me you’d be okay with your daughter being treated like that.
It doesn’t matter that around 70% of Americans oppose this insane practice, which wipes away decades of progress that women have made for equal representation on the playing field. Biden and the Left don’t care about American families. They care about putting points on the board for radical extremists who stopped believing in common sense a long time ago
The stories just keep coming in. Recent school board guidance in New York encourages teachers to keep kids’ “gender identity” a secret from parents. New proposed legislation in California wants to charge parents who don’t support their kids wanting to “transition” with child abuse. The prominent Left-wing group the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recently added several parental rights groups to their “hate and extremist list” for the crime of wanting to make sure their kids aren’t taught inappropriate content in school. Of course, the SPLC researchers responsible for that terrible smear actually met with Biden officials earlier this year.
It reminds me of when we learned that elongated school lockdowns – which set our kids back years by driving down test scores, driving up teen suicides, and depriving students of time in the classroom – were a product of coordination between Left-wing teacher’s unions and the Biden administration. The Biden administration is consistently working with far-Left groups to shape policy that wants you to butt out of your kids’ lives. They might punish you with a weaponized government if you push back. This isn’t right, and it isn’t America.
Thankfully, House Republicans recently passed a Parents’ Bill of Rights that stands up for our children and shifts the balance of power back to parents. As we work to flip the Senate and make Joe Biden a one-term president in 2024, we have to remember that our kids are at the center of this fight. Democrats might be fine with mortgaging our future to score political points, but Republicans will always put our children first. The American people see that we are the party of common sense when it comes to parents and kids.
