Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt took to Instagram Wednesday to answer personal questions from followers, including inquiries about her family and what it’s really like to work for President Donald Trump.
The mom of two said that she was traveling and had some time on her hands, so she invited followers to ask her anything.
“What do you do in your free time?” one person asked, prompting Leavitt to reply, “Haha. I don’t have free time. As a mom of two littles, I’m lucky if I can take a shower in peace. But it’s the season of life I’m in and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!”
She also confirmed that she’s voting in the New Hampshire midterm elections and urged followers to do the same because, “it’s the chance to make your voice heard.”
Another follower asked Leavitt whether President Trump was “nice/kind.”
“Yes! He’s the best boss,” the former press secretary replied. “People don’t see this side of him because the media doesn’t show it, but he has been nothing but kind and uplifting to me, even since departing. He’s also hilarious. Love him!”
When asked for advice about being in an “age gap relationship,” Leavitt advised one person to “forget the haters” and “follow your heart.”
“Marrying this man was the best decision I ever made,” she said of her husband Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years older than she is. “He’s the absolute best husband and dad in the world. Everyone gets why we are together when they actually meet him and see us together.”
Another follower asked why she hides her kids’ faces in photos, to which Leavitt replied, “I wish I didn’t feel the need to do this because my kids are so dang cute and I am so proud of them. But I received a lot of threats and negativity in my job as press sec, and I feel it’s the right thing to do to protect their innocence.”
She said her children could decide whether to go public when they’re older, but she’s keeping their lives private until they can make that choice for themselves.
Leavitt also answered questions about where she shops for clothing, naming brands such as Ralph Lauren and Veronica Beard alongside more affordable stores such as Zara, Ann Taylor, and even TJ Maxx.
Finally, someone asked about Leavitt’s future career plans. She confirmed that she’s becoming a Fox News contributor on November 1, as previously reported, and said other projects are in the works. For now, though, the stay-at-home mom said she plans to spend plenty of time snuggling with her babies.
